Just moving this on to January, not too far away now, and the possible player movements.
Our American friend is to put £10,000,000 into the club next few weeks, I'm gonna assume that it'll be available to Deano in January.
Outgoings:-
Pukki and Cantwell can speak to other clubs and sign pre-contract in January.
Max might get some interest, although his inability to get past defenders and cross the ball might put serious money off.

Who do I think Smith will bring in?
A center back to replace Gibson.
Hopefully another DM as competition/ cover but I can't see him doing that til the summer if at all sadly.

I can't see anyone leaving in January to be honest. Interest in Cantwell seems to have cooled and I think Aarons is happy to stay for the time being. I have a feeling Pukki will go in the summer, probably abroad. If we don't bring in another striker (Idah looks like he's going to be out for a while) I would keep Hugill because we will need the cover if Pukki or Sargent get injured. Another midfielder or two are needed IMHO. We are yet to see what Hayden can do and he is also on loan to us, so a DM would be good. Also someone creative. Nunez is quality and Ramey is doing OK but Ramsey is also on loan to us, so someone who can open up a packed defence is needed as the performance against WBA demonstrated, A centre-back is also needed because we can't rely on the current pair to stay fit all season and Gibson has become a liability IMHO. We are definitely a work in progress and are punching above our weight at the moment (based on recent performances) so things should keep moving forward if we give them time to gel and some of our fellow fans stop moaning all the time.

The official line is that money will be put into infrastructure such as Colney or even making the main stand bigger but I wouldn’t be surprised if Smith manages to get a little

We've had a couple of contracts extended for some fringe players, only a few weeks til January now when other clubs can talk to all those senior players whose contracts expire in the summer.
