West Ham Injuries...Does this give us some hope?

Just saw today that West Ham has a serious case of the injury bug.  They got past Liverpool in the FA Cup, but all three substitutions were for injury concerns (first 3 below).  From what I can gather, a total of 6 key or relatively key players will be unavailable for Saturday.

  1. Winston Reid - CB or RB - Hamstring
  2. Joey O'Brien - RB - Hamstring
  3. Cheikhou Kouyate - CDM - Concussion (lost consciousness during the match, though ok. will miss due to concussion rules)
  4. James Tomkins - CB - Calf (out 6 weeks)
  5. Manuel Lanzini - CM - Hamstring (close to returning though not fit)
  6. Diafra Sakho - ST - Hamstring (another week or two and not fit)
One other potential absentee is Alex Song, but he is very probably to play Saturday.

With all that said, does this mean we might have a chance this weekend to shake our poor form?

Here is where I got my info if anyone wants to look for themselves.

Sam Byram will cover the right back position, Collins and Ogbonna the centre back positions with Reece Oxford as backup.  Lanzini and Sakho have been out for weeks so haven't really factored for a long time. We will miss Kouyate but Pedro Obiang will slot right into that position.  For once we have a strong enough squad that we can still play without the six injured players above.
