Don't see the point in Hooper trying to get back up to speed in development matches. We should loan him back out to Scunthorpe for a month or two, to rediscover his scoring form and get his match sharpness back, and give Loza a run off the bench.

As for Bassong, I can't imagine there's any way back for him. With three first-team games in a week, Adams is probably more concerned with ensuring that Miquel and Cuellar get some game time or at least a place on the bench. When Bassong features in a first-team squad I'll believe there may have been a reconciliation.

Not sure I really agree with this. The fact that he played 90 minutes for the under 21's yesterday, and played for an hour in the League Cup last week suggests that he's very close to being fully fit again, if he's not already. Seems strange to loan him out as soon as he becomes available to us again. Loaning him out to a League 1 club probably wouldn't do his confidence much good either.

The fact that he played 90 minutes for the under 21's yesterday, and played for an hour in the League Cup last week suggests that he's very close to being fully fit again, if he's not already. Seems strange to loan him out as soon as he becomes available to us again. Loaning him out to a League 1 club probably wouldn't do his confidence much good either.

Can't see him getting in ahead of Grabban or Jerome at the moment. He'd be a guaranteed starter every game, probably knock a few goals in and get the adulation of the fans. Rather that than try to ease him back in with 20 minutes here and there, it's very difficult to find your shooting boots when you're just getting short cameos at the end of matches.

A fit and concentrating Hooper will have to force his way into the squad first and the team second. I can see him achieving the first but with our current style of playing I don't for the life of me see him playing the lone role or left sided man in support. I can' really see him in anything other than 4-4-2 which we aren't playing at the moment. And Jerome's contribution in other areas, like his endeavour leading to Murphy's goal make him a definite starter.

The under 21s is not representative of league football in any way, shape or form. All I was suggesting is we loan him to Scunthorpe or someone for a month on an emergency loan (we can still pay the majority of his wages, no biggie), where he can get used to the cut-and-thrust of proper competitive football and bang the goals in. I didn't realise Loza was leaving for Swindon, so if that happens then it's a non-starter. I'm just saying I'd rather he spent a month scoring goals with a proper football team in front of proper fans rather than intermittent appearances with the youth team in front of two men and a dog.
