Unsurprising news, but could be interesting seeing as we play them at the end of the month. Annoyingly it comes at a time where they'll almost certainly have a new guy in charge, and he won't be in charge long enough for us to figure out how they'll set up. Could be an interesting one. 

On the other hand, their team is extremely average so i think even with Mourinho in charge I'd still feel confident of beating them.

 They were the first team we beat away when we went back up to the Prem under Lambert. I also remember being in a hotel room in Newcastle after we'd played there later that season and turning on the TV while the wife was getting ready to hear the news of Fabrice Muamba collapsing at Spurs and the fact that the paramedics couldn't revive him. First time I'd cried for a long time.

Whatever happened to Owen Coyle? Next big thing at Burnley, went to Bolton and the club has dropped like a stone since. A spell in League One beckons.

Yeah that's right. We did the double over them as well that season, and they looked incredibly poor, and obviously ended up going down.

I remember I was watching that game. Truly awful, still gives me goosebumps now thinking about it.

Bolton have been patient for a long while, and this season's results so far have not been very good, so it's little surprise.

Several of the other once great northern teams which flourished briefly, with a millionaire to back them, but are now struggling - Blackburn, Oldham, Wigan, etc., but they have lacked the support of a large fan base and suffer from Manchester  nearby.

Interesting point re fanbase. When you are doing well, and in the Premiership, you don't really need your fans, as such, its Sky that pays the bills. But when it all goes wrong, you really do need your fans. See our attendances in league one for a brilliant example of this!
