Disappointed that we weren't able to do the Dorrans deal in time, maybe we'll be able to sign him on loan once the loan window opens. However I'm pleased that we've managed to keep hold of Olsson. A little bit frustrated as well that we couldn't end up doing a deal for Craig Noone, but that one was always going to be difficult with them wanting £5m. 
 
If we can now sign a good left winger on loan I'll be pretty happy. I'll be quite pissed off though if we don't manage to, as that has been an area that has been troubling us all season.

With players coming back from injury / suspension, and as you say Din, we get a left winger in on loan, then I think we have about enough for the final push.

Will be a real bonus if Andreu hits the ground running.

Its a pity more people can't actually see that as a positive.

I would be very surprised if we hadn't turned down some fairly substantial bids.

It also shows that the players have a certain amount of faith in the new manager.

Its a huge positive that we had just the one departure....and for me highlights that the issue is not really about bringing in players, it is getting the best out of what we already have....and so far this season that really has not happened for more than 30 or so minutes in a hand full of matches.

As for Olsson, I am a fan of his for the way he played last season, BUT he has been well off his game for most of this, and yet I felt he was the one top player we have at the moment who we could get a decent fee for and actually not miss (based on his form this season).......also I have always rated Dorrans. I really cannot remember ever watching Noone, other than when he played for Herman's Hermits and his poster was on my sisters bedroom wall, which is strange because I do watch a hell of a lot of football. 

I know nothing of our signing from Hamilton, but am "keeping my fingers crossed" that my lack of excitement over the signing is soon turned round by a MoM performance on Saturday!

What the hell is going on with Bunn? Is he still here or did he leave a while ago? He's not warming our bench, but with half a season of competency at Premier League level you'd think someone would be interested?

Last I heard he was told he is free to leave.

Pretty sure if Ruddy got injured we'd step Rudd up, though we would need a new bench warmer. Think Bunn's contract is up and the end of the season so its a moot point, but he did well for us and is capable of more than collecting rot in our reserves.

The squad has a number of player who need to be allowed to move on for both our sakes, sad this hasnt happened enough this window, but not surprising when the new management team have only been in the job for a few minutes.

Would hope the likes of Becchio and Bunn get a chance to move out on loan in a few weeks. Now Olsson is staying, Garrido is also too good to be rotting - loan him out with a recall, or play both Olsson and him on the left flank

With Lafferty leaving, I suspect that 4-1-4-1 could well be the way Neil wants to go, given the emphasis on Dorrans and Andreu, who would both be well suited to that formation. Given the need for us to push on, it makes sense to sign Andreu as Neil knows his game well.

There are possibilities for the left side of that formation, but none of them ideal. Redmond, E.Bennett, Murphy, Johnson and Olsson could all play there, but the first 3 prefer to play on the right. Hooper, Andreu, Hoolahan and Howson would all be competing for the middle berths, assuming Tettey or O'Neil is playing the holding role. Lots of options and it'll be interesting to see which way Neil goes if that is the case.

Correct me if Im wrong but didnt Celtic often play Hooper up front on his own?

Alex Neil has spent the last 10 years in Scottish football so he probably has a good idea of what got the best out of him at Celtic. Hooper should really be looking to hit the same level of performance as he had with Celtic in this league

So Hooper may well be the main main up front in this formation. It didnt work well in the Premier League because we couldnt support our forwards. Alex Neils teams seem to be all about this - so theres every reason to think we could start to see the best from Hooper - interesting he has had such apparent little interest. He moved to Norwich to play in the Premier League after all - I havent heard of him throwing his toys out of the pram in this window

I'm not writing him off by any means but I think anyone expecting Andreu to be a cut price Sigurdsson is going to be disappointed. All his goals in the SPL are as a result of the shocking standard of defending and goalkeeping.

I've seen nothing of the rest of his game so who knows whether he'll be a success but there is no chance he's going to be scoring those sorts of goals in the Championship.

It is right to exercise caution of course but I think Dandy is harsh. Some of the defending is poor but no poorer than we've seen from Millwall and others this season.

At any level, to score from outside the area with both left and right feet is something. There are some cracking goals in there. If you go on to the end of the tape to the Swiss games, there are passes Wes would be proud of and tackles that Bradley would want to own.

Of course, it depends on whether he can do it at this level but given that he has done it at Scot Prem which is Champ to lower League One, it is not a huge leap. He may be a useful player to come on when we need a goal in the last 10.

Certainly, it's worth a million to give him a go.
