Chances of getting ticket on General Sale

I'm looking to travel long-haul to come to Wembley to watch the game with the rest of my family (who are in England).

I worry that if I wait to get tickets for the game (which go on sale Thursday morning my time) it will leave it very late to purchase my flight - looking to depart maybe Friday.

I notice from the website "We have been initially allocated 38,888 seats in the East side of the Stadium.".

Do you think it is worth buying the flight on the presumption we will be able to get tickets for the game?

39K seems alot of tickets, do you think Middlesbrough will even use all of their allocation so we may get more?

Seems priority membership now gone, otherwise probably would have upgraded all of us to guarantee tickets.

To be honest I wouldn't book the flight on the presumption you could get tickets. I went down to the ticket office at Carrow Road this morning to get mine, and whilst I got it the feeling was that tickets were starting to run low. Apparently all of the 2nd tier is sold out, and most of the first tier is also low. The only seats left for general sale I imagine will be the 3rd tier, the top tier. And when tickets do go on general sale, they will likely sell out incredibly quickly, so you're going to have to be pretty quick to get one.

I'll also say that I don't know how many family members you're going with, but if there's 3/4 of you I would say it's very unlikely you will all be able to get all of your seats together.

Boro will use all their tickets, no doubt.    I went to look at the block my seats are in (a huge block), and there was literally only 3 or 4 seats left, all individual seats.   So you're chances of getting  3 or 4 seats in a row are tiny.  As long as you don't mind sitting on your own, then you should be ok.  

I assume you're doing this through season tickets right?   I'm pretty sure tickets aren't available for people without a season ticket or priority membership, as all remaining tickets will be gobbled up on wednesday as season ticket holders are entitled to a +1.

Thanks for feedback, just regular member, don't have priority (I would buy but seems not availalbe anymore), looking like just 2 of us now.  Happy to be any season ticket holders +2  

Anyway I think I'll book the flight anyway, at worst I get to spend time with family and watch the match at decent timezone.

I doubt it'll be a problem to get a ticket. The first 25,000 or so are going to be snapped up quickly but for the next 14,000 or so we're relying on casual supporters who don't attend regularly. Availability is still very good for most of the upper tier and presumably if we sell our initial allocation we'll be allocated additional seats.

Interesting, with no general sale at all I wonder if we will sell out if it is left to just STH and Priority. Maybe the club offer some form of general sale if there are still tickets remaining.

If we don't end up selling out, there would be a massive inquest into how it has been handled.  Idea seems to be that from Wednesday, STH and PMs can buy another ticket each, surely ordinary members should be allowed to buy at that point too ?

I think it would fair to offer seats to anyone who has had a customer number prior to a certain date, I suspect that many people who only have a customer number will be looking to STH and priorities to help them out.

I would have liked to have taken my partner. She is not a big fan, but would have enjoyed the occasion. She would only come if she was sitting with me though which isn't going to happen given the way ticket sales have been prioritised. I wasn't going to risk not taking up my one ticket in the hope of getting two on Wednesday. I expect many other STH/PMs are going to be in the same situation. I'm still confident that we will sell out our allocation though.

I don't understand why they won't go on sale to the public. Clearly the club expects to sell out just through STH's and PM's, but even so there will be some fans who don't live in Norwich, who doesn't know anyone who's a STH/PM and therefore won't be able to go.

And building on that, I have a mate who's a Chelsea fan, who actually has a disliking for Norwich City, yet he is going to this because he wants to go to Wembley and has a family member who's a STH. It doesn't seem right than someone like him can get a ticket and yet there will be some Norwich through and through fans who can't.

I feel a little cheeky asking, but tentatively, would anyone (one of the regulars) be able to buy me two tickets with their customer number on wednesday? I was really expecting them to go on general sale and am now panicking slightly. Would obviously pay up front.

The few occasions I have taken the other half to the football she gets really carried away with the atmosphere, but has pretty much no concept of what is going on on the pitch. Her shout of preference, in her best middle England tones, is "Go Canaries" as I slide under my seat with embarrassment.
