He was meant to have it at the end of May, but the Sun is saying he'll be out for two months today. Even if they're just late with the story and the op did happen as planned and the two months is up to the end of July, will he be able to start the season? Strange that nothing has been said about this.

If he had the op end of May I'd imagine he'd be fit for the start of the season. Its odd this would get delayed as clearly this would mean him not being ready for the big kick-off. I agree strange nothing has been said

I seem to recall an edp article confirming he had the op (went into hosp last season but decided against it because the lengthy recovery period could have stopped a prem move)   It is an op needing a long recovery period so it would be no surprise if he missed the first 3/4 games

A bit worrying if that is the case, but I suppose Whittaker could play at LB and Martin at RB if we haven't signed anyone who can play at LB. Presumably he will be able to do fitness running before he's ready for football training.
