Aleksandr Kokorin of Dynamo Moscow. 24 y/o forward that can do a bit of everything. Has been in the Russian national squad for a while now and shares the same agent with Seb Bassong.

Just as a example, Ajax sold Kishna to Lazio with only 3millions. Quite good catch if he developes at least half of that potential Netherlands are touting about. 

So potential can be bought cheaply and as left winger I doubt our Robbie is over double time better than Kishna ^^

Max Gradel

He was quality at Leeds and has been quality at St Etienne. Has requested a transfer and wants to play in the Premier League, couldn't we work out a swap deal with RVW going in the opposite direction? A few million + Van Wolfswinkel?

We'd be silly not having a go at getting a player of this quality on a free transfer wouldn't we? Especially as we clearly need a left winger, we can't play Bradley Johnson out wide in the Premier League, and nobody has an appetite to see Kyle Lafferty trying to play there again?

Both would have been achievable signings for us. Disappointing we didnt seem interested in either as would have been good signings I think

Both good players TGMD, but Gradel doesn't really fit our preferred system IMHO, and I dread to think how much Sako has managed to con from Palace in wages per week, it's more than likely to be 15-20k per week MORE than our current top earners and he's not THAT good.

Sako was apparently asking for ridiculous money at one point, so that probably put a lot of clubs off, doubt he got big money at Palace but if he has one of these new breed of super greedy agents like Sterling then that would be enough to put clubs off. 

Also, he may well flop like Tom Ince. 

I'd love to have seen Max Gradel here though, Jose Mourinho has come out and said that Gradel is good enough to play for Chelsea!

Apparently McNally said after the game that we'd be signing a new player on Monday. Mbokani or someone else?

Mbokani is the only player that we're linked with that seems reasonable to me. Won't be Gayle, surely won't be some youngster from one of the big guns and I doubt we'll sign an Andre Grey or whoever from the championship.

So Mbokani or somebody that we've not discussed yet.

I think Mbokani seems the most likely, questions still remain over whether he's right for us as he's never played in English football, personally if the price is right and we just want someone to stick it in the net (the sort of chance Grabban had yesterday) then I think Jordan Rhodes must surely come into the discussion, the big question though is are we willing to pay the £10m-£15m thats being touted for him

He's got all the physical attributes, can play up top on his own or in a pair, seems to be a decent enough finisher and he has pretty quick feet. Looks like the type that will do okay in the league.

I'm not Morty but the rumour comes from Nick Conrad of Radio Norfolk - a presenter but big city fan. Seems more credible than most. Hopefully!!!

Nah, and its not really a rumour, just my hope that whoever we bring in impresses people, and we're not left a bit underwhelmed.

I don't hold out much hope for Hooper and Ricky. Grabban needs to pick his game, after what I saw on Saturday, so that only really leaves Jerome who looks "Premiership". The same Jerome that missed a large part of pre season injured.

*Edit* Sorry, were you talking about the Mbokani rumour? No idea, to be honest.

If this is true then I can't see past it being Mbokani, which I'd be quite happy with. Like others have said I certainly hope we're not left underwhelmed and disappointed should there be an announcement.

To be honest though I'm not sure how much truth there is in this. I think it's fairly obvious we will sign a striker sooner or later, but I can't believe that McNally would just come out and say that we will definitely have one in by Monday.

I just worry that with this we're risking repeating old mistakes. Swapping our effective Holt (Jerome), established in English football, for an unknown quantity RvW (Mbokani) who has never played in England before - all in the name of 'upgrading'.

Id be happier if we were bringing in someone with Premier League experience, or even just experience of English football as a whole
