African Cup of Nations

Not seen any mention of this. It starts Saturday 16th for three weeks. 

How might this affect us. It looks as though we could be without Bassong, Mulumbu and M'Bokani. To me if we were to lose Bassong that would be significant as centre back is where our cover is arguably the weakest. To lose M'Bokani would also be a blow. Mulumbu less so as he has featured less.

However I have not seen any comments on this, so maybe not an issue. Anybody know?

I have posted on another thread that maybe AN sees Pinto as an option at CB. Mulumbu is not getting game time and the emergence of VOO is going to help the options in midfield.

I imagine a striker is coming in and I believe its 6 of Mbokani or half a dozen of Jerome at the moment anyway.

This was discussed on the other forum, can't remember exactly the outcome, but it was something along the lines of there are two different competitions, theres the one where everyone loses their African players, then theres an internal one, just for players that actually play in Africa, this one coming up is the latter.

Its a peoples front of Judea thing, one is called "The African cup of nations" and one "The African nations cup" or something like that.

Don't quote me on that though!

Mbokani & Mulumbu both feature for congo so would lose them;    I dont think bassong appears for cameroon anymore - having fallen behind nkoulou amongst others

The African Cup of Nations is played on the odd numbered years.

The Africa Nations Championship is played on the even years and is exclusively for players in domestic leagues. Easily to find on google when you know what you are looking for.

Do not look at the other forum much so missed that discussion.
