Wouldn't surprise me if he was on 80k a week plus. I think he was out of contract in the summer, hence the low transfer fee.

If he is on 80k a week, which is a reasonable guess, that makes the whole 4 and a half year deal worth nearly 23 million.

We didn't. Alex said back in August that the medical info we had was that his knees were shot and that he wasn't a target. There's a clue in the cut price deal Saints secured.

That plus his wages would be the only reason you wouldn't want him. His strike rate is excellent but he does look a bit of a sick note nowadays. Saints already have one in Rodriguez so they are taking a risk.

Fitting him into the formation regularly could be tricky. I suspect he'll go to Sheff Wed and do very well. And we'll all moan we should have kept him...

I just don't think Hooper can work hard enough for the Premiership, and we don't have the players around him to take up the slack.

But I have to admit that with his regular games for Wednesday, he's looking pretty good.

He is multipurpose attacking player. Mostly played as second striker or striker, but can play as winger or CAM too. Second striker just behind centre forward is his best position imo. Not really creative enough to play as 10 in my opinion and his wing plays consist hard work, but cant get past opponent too often.

Was just watching Alex Neil on SSN, when asked about Naismith he said he can play as a 9 or a 10.

But I think we would see him as a ten, in place of Hoolahan.
