Completely the wrong time to be sacking our manager for me, we've just got 4 points from 6 games and in our next three games we're playing the two teams immediately below us and the one team immediately above us.

I actually couldn't think of a worse time to sack him, I think it would assure our relegation, and actually if we stay up this season Alex Neil would have done a decent job.

If we went down this season Nigel Pearson isn't the only option. He'd be a good option, some of his signings for Leicester have proven incredible pieces of business. 

But I'd argue that Simon Grayson has a better CV, having managed four clubs and achieved promotion with all four of them, he's a manager who has never got the credit he deserves and he also built the team which we pillaged of Howson, Snodgrass, and Johnson.

I'm not saying Pearson isn't decent, though I don't always agree with his methods, but I felt like you were usually more eloquent and rational than to suggest Alex Neil is a yes man.

We've got three cup finals coming up, and we're going into them with two clean sheets in a row thanks to that German colossus at the back. 

We're 17th and were playing the teams in 16th, 18th and 19th. 

Not the time to be talking about sacking the manager, next three games will make or break our season.

Anybody noticed how we can drag Palace into all of this? Lets focus on that.

I doubt that Nigel Pearson would take the Villa job until the summer anyway, why put another managers relegation on your CV.

At the end of the day Alex Neil's job for this season was to try make sure we don't finish below 17th, at the moment we are not below 17th, therefore he is doing his job. There are some big big games still to come though.

Personally I am not a fan on Pearson and so wouldnt want him here

An is still learning and I see no reason to change;  mistakes have been made and inspite of the poor summer transfer dealings,  primarily down to the club not having a scouting recruitment team in place,  we are currently on track to stay up this season.   The winter signings have improved us, with Klose the stand out but still reasons to be optimistic that both Naismith and Pinto will improve in the coming months and be better than we had.

Survival will be a major achievement given a squad who are relegation prem, good champs standard. If, as I suspect we will, stay up a deep overhaul is needed in the summer,  not just signing a new cb partner for klose and strikers.  Full backs and central midfielders are also needed.

As for Pearsons much lauded signings much of the credit for that goes to Steve Walsh and others behind the scenes - if they dont come here nor do the signings.

Still I find it to explain myself why we should change manager at this point of season and specially from AN to another manager whose only real merit is bringing Leicester up which is equal to AN's and our current manager and had almost decade more chances to make it happen. He also had very similar season in premiership than we have now.

If/When we look for managerial change we look possible replacement from top leagues, find suitable managers who play style our board wants  and has experience of managing team with low budget. Championship is very different world compared to top European football. Managers there tend to use very straightforward tactics to just keep point flow up and because difference between best and worst are so small it works. It is different world to play at top where difference between playing against Manchester City and Aston Villa is so big. You just can't grind points same way and hope it is enough to stay up. Most time, if succesful manager comes from second division he comes with the team and is not appointed and this is reason why I think we should stick with AN even, if we go down.

One success story we should be watching is FC Midjylland's. Even thought they got quite big money injection compared to their league size from their new owner, the analytic approach to what players they sign and how they setup their team is something we could use as we will never have spending power like our rivals, so we have to make those transfers count. I think AN with his tinkering is somwhat suitable coach for this kind of approach, but if we change manager I think we should be also looking for who is ready to look for attributes instead of players.
