Rumours and speculation

Chris Martin looks like he could play in the Premier League to me. He's kicked on a lot since leaving us, being the main man as opposed to playing off Holt has helped. 15 goals in a league season is the lowest he's scored since leaving. In hindsight it was an awful move letting him go for free but at the time most of us were excited about other new signings. Oh well.

Josh Murphy arguably had a better season than Canos last year, in a less talented team. Of course Canos is ahead of where Josh was a couple of years ago, I hear that Barcelona academy aren't too bad.

In 40 league 1 games Jacob scored 9 and assisted 10. If we'd signed a young player with those stats, as well as being quick and decent on the ball, I doubt we'd be hearing many complaints.

Still feels a bit light to me. Jarvis is good on his day but he's very inconsistent and he picks up injuries. As for the Murphy boys, are either of them as good as Redmond was 2 seasons ago? Probably not.
And apparently Jarvis is now out for three months. Shocker.

Be good to hear some outlandish rumors about who hasn't travelled to Austria.

Must be one or two who got left behind, anyone?

If selling a defender means we'll be buying another I sure hope that Russ Martin injury is actually an ''injury''.

Legia Warsaw have enquired about Vadis Odjidja. I really like him and think he could be a weapon at this level, unfortunately though both Naismith and Hoolahan are in front of him in the pecking order, and if he's not going to play then we may as well accept a good enough offer for him.

Don't know how much you can really read into shirt numbers in a pre-season friendly, but today Klose wore number 4, a number that wasn't used after Johnson left last season. Perhaps this suggests that the club think Klose is staying? Also, Sergi Canos wore number 9, which possibly implies we're not looking for a number 9 ourselves?

As I said, I doubt you can read anything into it, just thought it was interesting.

Youssouf Mulumbu is apparently in talks with Marseille, he's been a bit of a strange signing, most people seemed pretty pleased when we brought him in, but he got injured in pre season and then barely featured all season long, his reported wages of £45k p/w make him a pretty likely candidate to move on, cant see us paying anyone that in the championship to warm the bench

Going by Neil's post game comments we have a couple close to completion. One completely under the radar by the sounds of it.

Prayer circle for a new central defender? Unless Martin's back really is bad he could potentially be off?

Assuming Brady gets sold the wide areas are looking far too lightweight.

Find it a bit odd that Canos' fitness is apparently so far off it he wasn't up to being involved at Carrow Road but could go with the U21s.

Vadis set to move on this summer according to Alex Neil, hence why he wasnt involved at the weekend
Probably for the best, always sensed that there is a very good player in there somewhere but realistically he'd be at his best sitting behind the striker and we're sorted in that position with Naismith, Hoolahan and Maddison.

for hamilton AN rarely used wingers / wide players,  preferring a hard working interchangeable midfield 4 behind a fornt man and in front of a holder,  defending deep but breaking together.    perhaps that is the midfield he is now pulling together.

Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe has officially joined Legia Warsaw. Disappointing. Obviously injuries hindered his first season however particularly last season I don't think we ever really used him as much as we should, even though it is difficult seeing as he plays in the same position as Hoolahan/Naismith. Wish him luck anyway, shame it never worked out for him here.

Good move for him, earns English money while living in one of the cheapest cities in Europe and gets to play in the Champions League while there. No brainer considering he's probably 4th choice now for his preferred position.

Legia Warsaw are in the group stages of the Champions League if they beat Irish club Dundalk in the final play off

Oh its a permanent deal, thought it was going to be a loan which is why I said "English money".

We're being linked with Nahki Wells at Huddersfield along with Derby and Fulham. Don't get me wrong I'd be pleased with him, but tbh I'd really prefer us to go after Assombalonga. Watched Forest - Burton on Saturday and it's clear through everything he does that he's one of the best strikers in the division. Price would be similar to that we were prepared to pay for McCormack so we clearly have the money, plus he's only 23 so has years left in him. I also think out of all the strikers we've been linked with (McCormack, Wells, Kodjia) he's the one best suited to the Premier League, so should we go back up he could be a success for us there as well.
