With him in his last year of his contract, injury prone, putting lackluster peformances when he was playing and his bad and unprofesional behavior, i'm glad he's gone and he was probably my favorite player on that first seasons showing. We may live to regret it and he might find his first season form, but the probablity of that happening imo is slim.

I think we should be happy with £2m for a player who is rumoured to have failed a medical at both Swansea and Liverpool. The Swansea fee in January was said to be £3m, if the rumours of a failed medical are true - we just have to face up to the fact that whilst he has a lot of talent he is a crock. People don't spend big money on injury prone players.

We wouldn't have got Leroy Fer for £4.8m if other teams didn't have concerns over the condition of his knee, and we will probably spin a profit on Fer when he leaves - so you win some you lose some.

When was he rumoured to have failed a medical with Liverpool? I rememeber a rumour Liverpool were set to make an 8-figure bid, but never realised it got as far as a medical? Could you tell me more?

My concern is with goals from midfield. With two new strikers and Hooper up front it's hard to see where the 80 goals targeted by NA are going to come from. Pilks and Snods were the two midfielders capable of scoring a reasonable number of goals and both are now gone. I can't see many goals coming from Fer (if he stays), Redmond(if he stays), EB, Wes, Howson, Tettey, O'Neil or Johnson. None of our FBs or CBs score many either.

Has he passed the medical, it all seems to be taking a hell of a long time to get the transfer through.

I really wouldn't be surprised to hear he failed his medical. He's a walking sik-note. I wish it would all get done though, getting tired of hearing NCFC fans moan about it on Twitter, anyone think we were selling Messi.

I can't actually, as it happens, it was just a rumour and it may have been distorted in my brain. I'm sure I read it somewhere but it would qualify as a 'rumour' even if I could find it - and rumours are often untrue. If I were to find a tweet or Pink'un post it wouldn't make it any more likely to be true, so lets just assume that it was untrue....

Done Deal for £1m according to BBC
Pinkun yesterday was reporting around £2m. Reckon there will probably be appearance-based add-ons given his injury record...

Not in the slightest bit upset about this.

Happy to draw a line under it.

Agreed.  He has not contributed enough and has not been picked enough, even when fit.  Time to move on for everyone's sake.

The BBC are using the figure which was in the local press in Cardiff - OGS said that it was costing Cardiff more than £1m for Pilks, but didn't say how much.

Most fees are appearance/performance related so its impossible to ever really say how much a club makes from a transfer - I would also presume Norwich get an extra bit if Cardiff are promoted.

Morty - Wes had openly asked to leave, and we all know the rumours around that. Yet we made the move to ensure he stayed.

I Truly believe that the players we now see frozen out, being sold or loaned out were highlighted as bad eggs, or an embarrassment, or reason for our failure last year bg the board.

And yes I think many if them lost the desire to play in Hughton's system. This would've upset the board greatly as it was clear they thought Hughton was the man, and believed it until the bitter end.

I think Adams has had to see these actions through, that's my honest assessment. So, I don't blame him for any of this really other than he's allowed it to happen with his name on the front page.

Our current situation is solely in the lap of Hughton and Calderwood firstly, and secondly the boards (McNally?) stubbornness/determination to make a point to players who they felt contributed to our failure through the season.

So, totally take your point and would agree were it not for the whole 'every player has a chance' statement, because honestly thinking back why did Adams feel it necessary to say that? It's shown itself to be a lie, from what I can see anyway.

I'm fully supportative of the board and Adams, Proud of my club, can't wait for tomorrow etc. but feel quite uncomfortable of all the goings on right now and don't like to be lied to. But at the same time appreciate why it's probably going on.

We could all do someone else's job better, and that's how I'm feeling watching class being ignored, sold or loaned out, especially if it's based on a personal vendetta, or preferential treatment.

Will say that Ricky, Pilks, Bassong AND Becchio would all look great players once again were they to leave and get game time in this league.

I think what the fans need to see right now is a decent signing...

You are making a lot of big assumptions here, no one can know what has been going on - just to dribs and drabs we've heard coming out. Which are usually through the Norwich media filter.

What I would say is known is that Ricky wanted out, despite what he said on Twitter, and he alluded to that in an interview in the Dutch press where he said that he wanted to start fresh elsewhere this season - but not to move back to Holland.

Norwich were relegated and Adams needs to rebuild the team, this means moving players out, especially those he considers to be on the fringes of the team. It's pretty clear he wants to play a diamond, which doesn't leave much room for wingers, hence two being sold with no additions so far.

As the manager Adams has the right to move out players he doesn't feel are good enough, or suitable, for his team now. But his lack of experience seems to be given fans the opinion they know better than him, despite the fact he has sat down with all the players and spoken to them about their futures - I can't see Adams being the kind of manager who will cut his nose off to spite his own face and not select players for no reason.

Hoolahan resigning a contract, as you point out, kind of undermines your rather strange argument that everything that is going on now is somehow due to the board trying to protect Hughton's legacy (I really can't see what you are trying to say here by the way). If Wes can be brought back into the fold, anyone can, and the fact other players still remain on the fringes should probably tell you something about what is going on with them, rather than what is going on with the manager or the board.

I think RVW has made a big mistake by leaving us, he will forever be remembered as a flop in English football now - something which 15 goals this season would have half fixed, football fans tend to just look at Wikipedia stats on the right hand side where they will just see 1 in 27. It will damage his legacy even if he were to now go on and win a few more Holland caps and score goals in European competition.

If we do go up this season, thanks to goals from Lafferty, Grabban, and Hooper - then doesn't it undermine them if we bring back a player who wasn't up for the fight and did nothing to contribute to promotion?

I do think that RVW could have stayed for a year and made his peace with English football, stuck a few goals on his CV to repair his legacy (and hide the fact that his first season was a disaster), and then left having learnt that he isn't really built for the Premier League.

Whether that would have suited us is another debate, but RVW leaves having looked like a bit of a bottler. Even if it was engineered that way by the club PR machine (Adams stating that it is completely up to RVW and he is welcome back into the squad if he decides not to leave).

Now that he has made the decision to leave, would anybody want him back next season if we are in the EPL? Because I probably wouldn't, even if were to go and score 20 goals at St Etienne, the strikers who scored the goals to take us up would deserve the chance, and we'd have money to gamble on somebody new. He was given a lifeline in English football but rejected his second chance.

So Bethnal, what's going on with Bassong in your opinion? He made one error versus Stoke and he's since then been considered of no use to us even though we're playing a full back at centre half.

I think you only have to watch the interview where he calls Hughton 'his dad' to understand why Bassong might have been unhappy with Norwich for the last 5 games of the season.

I'm sure Adams would love to have someone of Bassong's quality available, it seems more likely the player has created this situtation rather than the manager. As I said, if Adams is happy to bring Hoolahan back into the team and give him a new contract - no one is beyond reproach. I can't say for certain of course as I have no inside information on the situation - but it seems strange to me that everyone has been quick to blame Adams for players being in the cold, rather than pointing the finger at the players and saying 'could they be doing more?'

As he has done at two of his previous clubs, ostracised himself to force a move. He refused to travel to a Newcastle pre-season friendly to force his move to Spurs.

You have to aks yourself whether the player considers it a year of his career wasted in playing 2nd flight football in England compared to top flight in France and a bit of Europa League, especially when it didn't look like he was going to be first choice under Adams for whatever reason.

Plenty of strikers have come to England, failed and still managed to have perfectly good careers elsewhere. Ricky might have just ruled off playing in England altogether, it certainly isn't the only place to play football.
