Exactly. Only a matter of time as the money available to Prem sides climbs every year. And lets face it, everyone knows Maddison is pretty special, and only likely to get better.

Yup. And I think if he had a turn of pace and/or physical presence he'd be gone by now - or would not have ever been at Norwich in the first place.

I could only see us getting mega, mega bucks for him if it was after load of add-ons had been triggered.

Let's hope that when the time comes we really do get the 'proper' market value for Madison, and for any other of our quality players for that matter, as in the past we have sold for what has been considerered to be less than the going rate.

A lot of people couldn't really work out how Harry Kane could score so may goals though, because he is has no obvious stand out physical traits. 

Just turns out that being a 7/10 in literally everything actually makes you a better player than people who are 9/10 in a few things and 5/10 in a few others. 

Maddison can pass, finish, cross, do set pieces, tackle, turn somebody, has a bit of vision... perhaps being 'adept' at everything is what really makes a player top class? 

I think our most under rated player in recent years is Graham Dorrans and several players agree with that. He went unappreciated and considered by a lot of fans to be a utility player, but he was probably our most complete midfielder and Howson got more plaudits because he scored the occasional worldie but I think Dorrans was more consistent and probably had the better all round game, e.g. could play that holding role and could actually tackle.  He could do any role in centre midfield. 

Understand why he wanted to go to Rangers though and pointless keeping an unhappy player, but swap Vrancic for him and we'd have a much better team.

Well again, Merson and Anderton were of a bigger physical stature. Maddison is more easily brushed aside than people seem to realise.

I've heard Howson referred to as the best player at the club by his colleagues.

Anyway, the main thing about Howson was his ability to play in all three thirds. Something Dorrans couldn't match.
