Bonds for the academy

Is there a reason why the bonds had a ceiling of £5m ? Why can’t they just keep taking further applications ?

I should imagine they have a requirement to make it quantifiable. If it all goes Pete Tong, the club has got to find the money to pay folk. Steve Stone said earlier that there would be further opportunities to support the academy coming up, so maybe they have something else up their sleeve.

Also I think the club had to be quite careful how they handled this ( they have done a great job, in my opinion) as there is still a bit of an undercurrent with some fans where money and investment is concerned.

Club probably doesn't want to pay more than £250k a year in interest.

They'd ultimately just have to end up charging fans more for stuff to cover any extra interest.

Plus we're probably going to be selling Maddison in the summer... so do we really need to?

With the academy sorted, and the Maddison fee presumably enabling us to pay off Naismith, Jarvis etc, we'll be sorted.

There's some good posters on the PinkUn but inbetween being followed about by certain posters, called 'Mortys minion' by others, and having to read people take a troll Reading fans opinion seriously it can be some real hard work!

The fact we have raised the 5m so quickly kind of backs up the clubs decision to go this way. There's no arguing it to be honest.

I think the events of the last 24 hours shows that we have a very small group of "fans" who will always find a way to turn any positive about the club into a negative. Have got fed up with challenging people on Twitter who sagely predicted that no-one would invest, before thundering about how the common fan has been squeezed out of the bond offer by the "prawn sandwich brigade" and, heaven forbid, board members looking for a return on their investment.

It's the term "real fans" that frustrates me, like the only people who should support Norwich City have to be like them, whatever that is. I started watching City in 1968 from the River End, but on an odd occasion was very lucky to go along with my Dad's boss and sit in the old Main Stand, I have been a season ticket holder in just about every part of the ground for many years, and also been very lucky to have benefited from some corporate arrangements that have included various added hospitality. I now live away from the UK and watch City whenever I can and on the odd occasion I get back to Norwich will always get a match ticket, it can be in any part of the ground and I have even treated myself to a ticket in a lounge on an odd occasion.................each time I have gone to Carrow Road regardless of where I have sat and how much I have paid for my ticket and each time I have watched on a TV because I havnt been able to get to the game I have been a "real fan" and have never ever begrudged anyone who is sitting in a place of their choosing to watch the game, I just see them as all supporting the club in their own way and the best of luck to them! It's the same regarding the bonds, it was a decent investment open to all City fans and I genuinely wish all investors the very best of luck!
