So, how long will you give it next season before you want change?

It's clearly my age, as a few years ago I doubt I would be suggesting that the current regime should be given until Christmas next season, and if we are not solidly challenging for a play-of spot at that time, then change must happen. That's more than enough time I feel, and to be honest I'm not sure how much more mediocrity I can take, god knows what sort of a state I would be in if I was in country and a season ticket holder like I used to be, if there were still cushions, then I would be throwing them most weeks!.

I'm interested to know what others red line would be?

Tough one. I think it would depend on how much progress was being made rather than results. Clearly we need to see more of the sort of football that we saw in the latter stages against Leeds, Villa, Cardiff and Fulham than the turgid stuff that came earlier, but I think that if we're not in touch with the play off places by late Autumn Webber will be getting concerned. There are a lot of parallels with Fulham in terms of style of football (they play the same way as us but move the ball quicker and have a cutting edge) and also having to rebuild after offloading big salaries. It took them three seasons to get where they are now.

Tough question, because we have to first ascertain what we think is a realistic objective and if we look like we aren't capable of meeting that objective.... then who exactly is to blame.

I want Farke and Webber to get another summer to try and shape our squad. Unless we get bought out by somebody super rich.

But whole regime is still 'on trial' with me. Its a bit disappointing that we couldn't finish above Ipswich this season, just because they spent about £1.5m on two alright strikers, and when you know that Ipswich manage to land Waghorn for less than £1m and we spent that on Husband.

Difficult to see how we're going to buy the goals we need, but we'll be skint irrespective of who the manager is or who the director of football is... so we cross our fingers for now.

Thing is, this league is a marathon not a sprint. So I think you can let it get nearer 20 games but you can't get cut adrift. If you're in the bottom 3 after 10 games then yeah, it's not happening. Time to change.

But if you're only midtable it's not the end of the world - provided you have shown that you have the capacity to score goals and keep them out. Consistency/going on a run can happen in the second half of the season but the belief has to be there that you have got what it takes to beat teams - and we have not had that in the season just gone.

I don't need any more of Webber's excuses though. He knew what he was signing up for. He's got his feet well under the table. Deliver.

I’m going to support my team and try and enjoy the rollercoaster ride. Of course I want us to get better, but personally I think there has already been some progress, we obviously need to be better around the opposition penalty area

I think primarily we need to see that the fundamental are improving. Not even the be all and end all of results. But if we can show that we're conceding less goals than last season, and scoring more - that would be a suggestion even if we're midtable that the play-offs are a possibility.

Out of interest, what excuses do you think Webber has made? I think he's been refreshingly honest.

He has been refreshingly honest about mistakes made by others.

Time will tell if he's as honest about his own mistakes.

That annoys me a little bit, has said a lot about mistakes made under previous regimes but he's benefited from some of their better decisions.

And one day he'll find himself sitting somewhere with an NDA agreement and the next regime will be criticising him, and he won't get his right to reply.

But I'm glad we haven't got Moxey, the bloke was like a rabbit caught in the headlights.

Yup. And not that they do exactly the same job as such but there were plenty of people impressed with Moxey to start with, think coming off the back of the 2016 AGM?? Because people tend to be impressed with what is put infront of them.

Just to say, I do like Webber generally and I support what hes trying to do. But like GJP has already said - it's not difficult to be honest about other people's mistakes especially when it can relieve pressure and buy yourself time. And that's not a criticism, it's the sensible thing to do if fans are happy to listen...which generally they will be.

Should we be in February next year and hes blaming the Naismith signing again then I'd imagine fans will be much quicker to retaliate with Martin's extended contract...

And failing to get the big money centre back signing right first time (Franke) and having to spend it again (Hanley). Partially offset by Zimmerman being better than expected I guess.

And fair to point out that the profit we make on Maddison will likely cover the entire cost of Naismith + Jarvis + Their wages for the duration of their contracts... and we did actually get football out of the first half of Naismith's.... and less than a third of their contracts fall during the period after parachute payments end. So essentially the serious bit of that mistake was giving them both 1 year too long on their deals.

That one year is probably about £3.1m in wages. Its £3.1m we shouldn't need to find but chicken feed when you consider the Jacob Murphy + Alex Pritchard fees... and less than the £3.5m we are said to have spent on Husband and Franke.

Unless we still owe Everton a third of the fee or something? £8m in three installments?

It depends really, if we're bottom after 10 games and showing no sign of improving that then obviously something will need to change there and then. I don't really think there's a set point in the season though where we say "We have to be in a certain position by that point or we'll have to sack Farke" or whatever. Think you have to play it by ear. Realistically given that once again a lot of players are gonna be coming in and quite a few will be going out, it probably will take a little bit of time to properly get going. Last season it took us a few games to get used to the change in system and style, once we had acclimatised to it we went on a great run of form and found some consistency. The problem was after that run of 10 games unbeaten or whatever that we started to drop off again and lose the consistency we had. I don't mind us taking a few games to get into our stride while we get used to the football Farke wants us to play in the system he wants to use, but once we are used to it I want us to be a lot more consistent, and certainly not the completely unpredictable 'will go and lose 4-1 to a poor QPR side one week before beating 4th in the table Villa 3-1 the next' that we saw last season.

Thing is when I say consistency I don't even really mean in results (although that'd be lovely), I just mainly mean in our performances. Don't get me wrong the Championship is a ridiculous league so its always going to be a bit unpredictable, but I just want us to play at roughly the same performance level nearly every week, the same way the likes of Brentford or Preston seemed to do last year. If we win we win, and if we lose we lose, and I know that playing at the same level every week is harder than it sounds, but at least that way if we go and beat a top team then it'll actually mean something, rather than last season where it felt like I was just constantly having the tip licked. If we could do it whilst playing the tiki-taka, attacking football that Daniel Farke stated he wanted to play when he first came in then it could make for a really good season.
