Not sure what he's doing now, but I do have to consider why he feels it necessary to speak up.
What's his agenda? Is he trying to raise his profile for a new job? Just trying to massage his ego?

Yeah it's a strange one. I agree with his point about directors taking responsibility, but he conveniently body swerves the fact that contracts given out that continued after parachute payments would have finished, are the main reason we are having to perform financial surgery just now.

Didn’t he sign some sort of agreement not to comment when he left ? I wouldn’t be surprised if that has now expired and he can say what he wants.

It makes me wonder just why he is bothering though, it just looks like sour grapes, and a vehicle to feed his ego.

Happy for him to be bothered at last to be honest....and I am convinced that had he still been with us we would have seen a much better end result last season than we got. Last season of parachute payments and we totally blew it!

Parachute payments that were sucked up in paying money to players that didn't contribute anything. Players on contracts that were, at least, a year too long?

Interesting. I heard he was going to be surfacing.

Not really. I know a guy who is very ITK. However, he rarely lets slip anything that is currently happening at the club.

But he is slightly more open on people that have left the club. Slightly. And he just said to expect McNally to pop up fairly soon.

Hmm... correct to say that he had a disastrous final window with Naismith, Bamford and Jarvis (although Klose and Pinto were good signings at the back),and that is on him.

But I did say a while back that I thought McNally would be desperate to land a right hook after constant jabs by Webber.

We could do without public politics between McNally and Webber, but I think the latter has caused this sadly. Webber has made a few poor decisions also, like giving Russell Martin a contract extension and giving Husband a 3 year contract when we had Jamal Lewis coming through. And selling our only Championship quality goalkeeper to replace with a borrowed one, and leaving a League 2 standard keeper on the bench.

I assumed that he had NDA because McNally has always shot from the hip. Could that NDA be just a two year long limitation on speech then? I assume this is why GJP's mate speculated that McNally might resurface?

He got a £2m payoff, so that probably mean a two year NDA and two year barred from working in football? Such agreements are common in the legal industry and in Silicon Valley. So you might get a payoff from Google, but can't work for Apple or Facebook for 18 months and can't divulge secrets during this perio.d

I'd buy his book if he wrote one to be honest.

Would be interesting to hear some inside stories from an interesting period in our history, e.g. what went down with Grant Holt, they weren't too fond of each other, and from what I gather Pilks could be a difficult player to handle.

Whilst its unhelpful in the overall picture, you can kind of understand McNally saying his piece. Webber has, after all, referred to his tenure as 'pissing money up the wall'.

Its a hard point to argue with.

McNally gave us some great times, but he has to accept culpability for some of his less clever decisions.

McNally made some mistakes without doubt but overall it has to be said the good he did the club far outweighed the bad.

If the current regime can match what he did they will have done well.

And I can remember McNally laying into Doncaster when he arrived.

But if you are under a NDA you have your hands tied behind your back so McNally probably feels like Webber has been taking cheap shots.

McNally should just sit down for 6 months and write a book to get it all off his chest, release it and then move on to another job. He has burnt his bridges with the owners at the end of the day, not Webber.

Or they should get the gloves on and raise some money for charity, get in touch with Graham Everett and stick it on at The Halls. It would be like Froch-Groves.

McNally massively benefitted from a bit of a perfect storm in our club times, sure he was involved, but it certainly wasn't all down to him.

Interesting that McNally is still referring to the club as "we".

It was a combination of everything, the fans being behind it all, finding talismen like Grant Holt, Bowkett was instrumental in the success too. And McNally was part of that, and we should all be forever grateful.

But he also has to take responsibility for the likes of Van Wolfeswinkel, Lafferty, Jarvis and Naismith. Yes, he was single minded in trying to establish us in the Premiership, but that is the very reason that we are having to restructure right now. Imagine the shit we would be in, if we didn't have a Maddison to sell...

He got things badly wrong towards the end, which is why he had to go.
