Really came out of nowhere that Pukki signing. On a free transfer it looks like a good bit of business. Obviously we've had our fingers burnt with Youtube clips but it looks from them like he's a good finisher and his movement in the box also looks superb. From stuff I've read about him seems he's someone who'll suit Farke's style quite well. It is a step up to be fair coming from the Danish Premier League, and Celtic fans seem to have him down as one of the worst players to ever wear their shirt from when he played for them a few years back, so gonna be interesting to see how he adapts.
One thing I will say though to be honest is I will be disappointed if we go into the season with him and Srbeny as our main strikers. Pukki has never played in England before and whilst I think there's a good player in Srbeny I don't think he's going to be prolific even if he does have a good season. So far from Maddison, Murphy and Watkin's sales we've made around £35m, and spent £4.5m on Leitner, Marshall, Buendia and Pukki. I know obviously you don't just get all the money up front and that most of the incoming fees are being used to plug the hole in our finances etc, but I do think we have enough to go and spend a bit of a fee on a striker. I've plugged for Marriott a lot in this thread but I do really think we should just go and chuck £5m plus Cantwell on loan or something at Peterborough. Particularly as we'll hopefully get £3/4m for Oliveira at some point this month. Marriott (or someone of similar quality),Pukki and Srbeny as our striker options is something I'd be really excited about.
But yeah, just another striker, a goalkeeper, and a shifting of as much deadwood as possible and I'll be very content with how this summer has gone
