Time to rest Tettey?

This could be a real cracker, or the teams could cancel each other out as Bielsa has them playing a similar game to us.

Gonna be a difficult game this. A good result going into the derby next week is important, or at the very least an encouraging performance.

I'd change things up a little bit considering Leeds are top of the league. Think I'd go for:

Krul
Pinto Hanley Klose Lewis
Godfrey Trybull
Marshall Pukki Hernandez
Rhodes

Subs: McGovern, Zimmermann, Tettey, Thompson, Leitner, Buendia, Srbeny
I don't think we can go with the 4-1-4-1 again, Leeds will tear us apart going forwards. We actually looked better on Wednesday when we switched to 3 at the back, so wouldn't be against doing that, with Zimmermann alongside Klose and Hanley, Pinto/Marshall right wing back, Jamal on the left, 2 of Trybull/Tettey/Leitner/Godfrey/Thompson in the middle, and Hernandez, Pukki and Rhodes up front. But for me I quite like the 4-2-3-1, and think we may as well give Tettey a rest. Been saying it for a few weeks but I would really like Godfrey to get a chance, and I think with Trybull alongside him they'd form quite a solid holding midfield pairing. Farke did say after the Preston game that he'll probably rotate a bit for this, so wouldn't surprise me if 3/4 changes are made. Wouldn't be against seeing Buendia start as well.

I watched Leeds' game against Swnsea on Tuesday and they're certainly not untouchable. I like to think with the players we have available we can give them a game, and hopefully get a result.

News from the presser :-

Pinto has a bug, Hanley took a whack in the face, and is a doubt, Farke aware of the workload on Tettey.

I have a feeling that he is happy to keep the Leeds manager guessing on the lineup.

I'd guess Zimmermann would come in for Hanley, but this is were things are a bit tight looking for us in defence, If Klose was sold and Hanley was to be out for a few weeks at some point that literally leaves us Zimmers and Godfrey who isn't even a centre back

I dont think Bielsa plays like us. He is very much for the high intensity pressing off the ball.

We will need everyone to turn up and have good games today.

I think he very much favours posession based, passing football, similar to how we play.

I think Bielsa may have shown us how to actually play...

Up until they scored I actually thought we were the better team. We were playing well. From that point on though we were hopeless. Leeds were a very good side but even so we were really disappointing.

Hernandez was our only threat but we didn't use him anything like enough. Thompson was ok, Krul made a couple of good saves. Apart from that everyone was poor. Didn't move the ball quick enough, time and time again we gave the ball away poorly, and in general we just had absolutely nothing. Not the result or performance we needed before the derby.

Need a response now against Ipswich. No excuses. They're bottom of the league and obviously haven't beaten us in 10 years. Lose to them now and it's completely embarassing. A lot of fans who are for Farke will change their opinions on him as well.

Never liked the look of that Trybull/Leitner central midfield. Too lightweight and too one pace.

Rhodes was no threat, again.

Thompson was clearly f*cked early in the 2nd half but DF didn't react to it.

2 nil down at home but there were spaces to exploit. Instead we waited for 3 nil and the game to be done before making changes.

Can't defend.

Console yourselves with the league table, specifically the bottom of the table

Personally I think that there are times when you have to admit that the opposition were better than us and today is one of those days. I’m not saying they look like they are going to walk the league, but they move the ball quick and get plenty of players in the box.
I was surprised Thompson didn’t play alongside Trybull. Pukki could have on the right with Leitner higher up the pitch. I don’t think we were hopeless or terrible today though, they were just better.
Pressure on both teams next week, should be interesting. Just win.

Yeah strange choice to play Thompson on the right, Leitner alongside Trybull. Leitner is obviously better centrally but as said him and Trybull is a very lightweight holding midfield.

Hate to say it as well but since Trybull has come back from that injury he had in the 2nd half of last season he hasn't been in the same. Particularly when he's not playing alongside Tettey.

Also, how is Simon Hooper still a professional referee? Literally never seen him have anything other than a bad game.

Firstly, that just looked like accomodating people to me.

Secondly, Trybull. He wouldn't get in my team with everyone fit. I think Vrancic has got more in the locker and for the combative/defensive side of things I'd pick Tettey.

We really miss McLean at the moment, and as GJP has said, if Vrancic was fit he would be in the team too at the moment.Leitner is starting to be the new scapegoat

outplayed........end of report
Fine margins though, we were excellent in the first 20 minutes, if theat dominance had actually been converted to a goal, who knows how the shape of the game would have changed.

But yeah, basically outplayed by a better team.
