Interesting to see what we do up front in this, Rhodes unable to play against Sheff Wed on Saturday so may as well start him here, but he looked shattered towards the end against Villa, and didn't have his best game against Brentford, so I'd be tempted to rest him and give Srbeny a game, I'd expect to see Marshall and Onel come in for Buendia and Cantwell too

Vrancic deserves the chance to start against strong opposition to state his case.

Not that Farke has much choice but to start him of course, but he deserves it nonetheless.

I'd rest Tettey for this game also, he's possibly our most important player and you don't realise it until he's missing.

Will be interesting to see whether he goes for Pinto or Passlack at right back if Aarons isn't risked.

Looking forward to this, will be a good opportunity to see some of the players who haven't been getting as much game time. Just frustrating we have to travel a fair distance for the game.

I'd give Pukki a few more days to recover. Rhodes can't play on Saturday anyway, so we may as well start him and use Pukki off the bench. Apart from that and Zimmermann in defence I'd completely change it up. Will be good to see Marshall back, and him and Onel on the wings should cause problems.

Win this and we're in the quater finals, so it'd be great if we could keep the momentum going.

Idah and also Oliviera, who it was hinted would play for the U23's tonight. Farke was making noises about the load on Rhodes, so do wonder if he'll play.

Plus he may not want to risk an injury to Srberny before Wednesday, when he'll be up front in the absence of Rhodes and Pukki?

Wouldn't blame him if he went for Idah up front with Oliviera on the bench to be honest.

He'll risk being accused of throwing the cup of course, but we really can't afford to lose Rhodes or Srbeny to injury.

Also the possibility of another surprise youth player? Max Aarons seemed to come out of nowhere so who knows who Farke has got his eye on for a possible breakthrough in the near future.

I'd love to see Idah get a chance to be fair. Same can't be said for Oliveira though.

I think Srbeny will play purely because he hasn't had much game time, and if he is to start against Sheffield Wednesday then the less rusty he is the better.

To be fair I reckon we should start Rhodes and Srbeny, take both off after 65 minutes, as Srbeny will probably be starting on Saturday and Rhodes has had a lot of load recently, bring Idah and Pukki on, as neither of them will be able to play a full 90 anyway. I hope Farke's reading this because that is a brilliant idea even if I do say so myself

That said, the fact that Idah or Nelson might be involved sort of suggests maybe Pukki isn't quite ready to play yet.

Yet a couple of goals might be just what is needed to tempt somebodies hand in January.

His stock fell hugely in the second half of last season after he managed something like 1 goal in 20, and he was so shit that no visiting scout would have been able to put their reputation on the line by recommending him to their gaffer....

.... then again if Oliviera came in and had a good game and scored a good goal he'd probably fuck it up for us and himself by running 60 yards to the touchline to abuse his manager or something,the bloke is his own worst enemy.

personally feel that Marshall was only on the bench saturday to meet the english player requirements, bit silly really if he isn't fit, surely there's a youngster that could of took his place on the bench that could of actually come on if needed

I can't believe we're losing at half time, we've played really well, McGovern had no chance with the goal, was a rocket from Stanislas, but since then Srbeny had a 1 on 1 saved by Boruc, Vrancic put an effort just past the post, Srbeny then hit the post, and Tettey had and effort from about 12 yards go wide

we're keeping the ball really well and it doesn't look like Bournemouth are a division above us at all, the game was fairly even before the goal but since it we've been all over them, keep it up in the second half and we can definitely turn this round
