New manager, yay or nay. If so, who?

Dyche would be my choice of the realistic ish type managers. But he might be holding out for something better.

However, he is available. I'm not sure I see a scenario where we pay DS off and pay compensation to get someone in.

Russell Martin. He is Norwich through and through. A defender who will sort our defence out. However, no matter who we get, the club needs new blood. Some of theses players need moving on. Kenny McLean, Nunez, got to go.

He was the worst defender in living memory, how's he going to sort our defence out?

As I said, we need to sell and buy. We won't do that as we have no money. Been like this for years. We are not a premiership side. Teams in the premier league are getting stronger and stronger. We are pure piss water. I watched the Ipswich game the other night and it pains me to say that they would probably give us a good run for our money. Dean Smith was a defender, but I don't see any improvement in our defence. No matter what manager we get he will have to work miracles to sort our team out on the budget he has. Russell Martin may not have been a good defender, doesn't mean he will be a shit manager. Case in point. Steven Gerrard. It's still very early in the season. Still over 30 games to go. I am not panicking. Give him time. Sheffield Utd going through the same bad patch. Let's just wait a while, see what happens.

Besides, I don't believe Norwich is the type of club that attracts big name Managers/Players. I think I said with Dean Smith, he doesn't look happy here. Norwich is a stop gap for him. Therefore, I am putting my money on Russell Martin. Besides that, past Managers of Norwich have been ex-players. Deehan, Gunn, O'Neil, Megson. I feel your pain. I cannot watch Norwich at present. When one one goal goes in I know it will end in defeat or a draw. Not the same team under Farke. Again, everyone got excited about Farke. Yes, he was great for what he did. My concerns were: most of the players and coaching team were coming from Germany, what happens if they all leave. Here we are. We have a good goalkeeper in Gunn. He just needs confidence. I like the look of Hayden, and Sargent is getting there. Byram is okay. Aarons may not be with us too long, which may be a good thing. Cantwell works hard and needs to get his confidence back. Nunez can go, Mclean gives the ball away too often, Hanley is too slow. Gibson, Ramsey, okay. I like Giannoulis. Needs time. Pukki has lost a bit of speed and fades out of games quite a lot. Other than that, old Klopp couldn't do much with what we have at present. It was Webster was keen to bring Smith to the team. Maybe he needs to go too.

Not a fan of Russel Martin the man, or a fan of the laziness of just getting in an ex player frankly. But if it happens then we need a manager with Premier league experience and credentials, am not interested in employing an average Championship manager, just to find him totally out of his depth if we get promoted.

We have dropped out of the top six now, so Dean Smith has to respond to this, let's see what he can come up with. I don't think we will see any sacking this side of the world cup.

If think that if Smith is to be sacked we would have to be seriously heading towards the bottom 6 (not unlikely if the current levels of performance continue).

A couple of questions for Nigellee33 ....
I do not understand why you want to see Nunez dumped. He has gone off the boil a bit, but I think he is a decent player and is generally doing all right. Also, unless I read it it incorrectly, do you really think Gibson is OK? Gibson is a shocking defender, out of position much of the time and his first touch and passing are woeful, something borne out by the number of goals he gives away.

I agree.
Tactics and game management changes as each season goes past teams have new ideas and the opposition adapts to them, developing ways to deal with them.
I'm of the belief that it was Farke's biggest issue he didn't seem able to adapt.
A team primarily has a goal to win a football match.
Sometimes the style of play needs to be different to achieve a result, Farke gave me the impression that his ego was so big he wouldn't change what he felt was the right way to play even if it meant financial disaster for the club.
An experienced PL manager would adapt quickly and not allow pride to affect results.

Nunez has been playing out of his skin since he got here, his career record suggests mediocrity sadly.

In the last 3 games I've watched Nunez play; yes he is skillful and has a shot on him, but he gets caught out in possession a lot and does not chase back to atone for his mistakes. Mclean is the same. As for Gibson. I am not a fan. I would build around Byram and Arons, if we can keep him. We need a player of Redmond/Maddison/Buendia's ilk in midfield. We don't have that. Look, I loved watching the Norwich team of the Farke years. We never gave up until the final whistle. I don't see that in this team. We stuck with Krul way too long. A good shot stopper, that is it. We have to keep hold of Sargent as he could prove to be a blessing for the club. I thought he was bog awful last year, but he is growing in confidence and is passionate in his gameplay. Farke did a good job getting us promoted he had a right to be egotistical as the fans, at one stage, wanted him out. He had many injuries and results were poor. However, his fortunes changed, and the rest is history. However, he wasn't a premiership Manager. Alex Neil was the same. The game has moved on now and fans have high expectations whenever a new manager arrives. Smith has aquired the same misfortunes as Farke with injuries to Hayden, Ida, and the like. I like Dean Smith, but his body language concerns me. He just doesn't look happy. I am happy with where Norwich are. There is such a long way to go. The league is unpredictable as most of the team's are inconsistent. I say stick with Smith for now.

Three indifferent matches and you'd like him out the door. If that was the criteria for getting rid of players we'd have very few left. I think he is a decent player. He may not be Buendia but he is one of our better midfielders and is enthusiastic, which is more than can be said for some of the others. I would be happy to see the back of McLean and Gibson but Nunez is a decent player to have in your squad in the EFL. Whether he can cut it the PL remains to be seen. A priority for me is a really creative midfielder plus another decent striker ... with Idah appearing to be injury prone and Teemu getting older we still have not addressed that problem which was a huge negative factor last season. Sarge is becoming the player I thought he would be in the EFL but, with Hugill apparently off Smith's Xmas card list, we do need another striker.
