Yay, last time this season! Feel a bit bad for Pukki as this being his last game, it feels like it is being played under a bit of a cloud.
Can only assume the players named as being released won't be involved.
DW on Kieran Dowell: “He has done quite well in the time I worked with him. We want to refresh the group, so we have to create space. This is the reason why.”
DW on Sam Byram: “Yes. He has been here for a few years, but he’s never put a run of games together due to injury.”
DW on Danel Sinani: “I take on board what the guys told me happened before. We have to bring new faces and new energy to this group.”
DW on Pukki: "I know everyone is keen to give him the send off he deserves. He's a standout guy, and he will start on Monday for sure. You can only imagine how big this moment is. Five years is a very long time in football, especially the five years he had with all the success. He's been focussed as normal in the last few weeks. Internally it's obviously emotional for him, but you wouldn't be able to tell with Teemu. He will be missed, but we know he deserves to make his own decision. We've backed what he decided, as he moves on."
“The longer time passes by, the more people will realise what he has done for this football club.”
DW on Monday's fixture: "It's a football game, and we're professionals. We like to look forward - it's the last home game. Everyone will have the right balance and the right knowledge on Monday."
DW on giving something to the fans: “Everything we will do in the window is not based on Monday’s game. We like to win football matches and this is our aim for Monday.”
DW: "Onel trained and is available. We've had to shutdown Sarge, as he's had a few shin problems. We need to look forward to next season for him, and will miss Monday's game."
DW: "McLean and Gibson are back on the grass with the fitness guys, and will be back for testing next week. From there, we'll have a clear vision."
DW: "We'll sit down and reflect. We'll get our head around and adapt, get some ideas onboard. I want every player to know what I expect for next season."
DW on upcoming pre-season: “Next season there will be some crucial parts. This is our pre-season and transfer window. We have to make sure we get these 100% right to be competitive.”
DW on the squad: “I am happy with what we have in our head. We have been showing potential new players the training ground in the past week. The first steps are done, but we have more to do.”
DW: "We've made the first decisions regarding the transfer window. There's been a few conversations, and it's a very busy period coming up for us. First steps are done, and there's many more to come."
DW: “I want new players in at the start of pre-season. This is important. If we can get players we want early then great.”
DW on selling Max and Andy: “It is quite common that we sell players to invest. This is what we do and we like to do. If you want new faces in the group then you have to make space. If you can do this and make money that is great.”
DW on positions to strengthen: “If it’s not disrespectful, I don’t like to answer which positions I want to strengthen.”
DW: “The setup here compared to Huddersfield is different class. This group is not big enough, so we have to make sure we balance this out. There are certain positions we haven’t been good enough in terms of quality or depth. I’m very excited.”
DW on using the loan market: “I love to bring success to Norwich City football club. If we have to get loan players to do this then we will.”
DW: “I’m interested to see where Teemu ends up next season. I will say nothing about our conversations. Whoever he joins, I can only say congratulations to that football club and their manager.”
DW on Bali Mumba '100% in my plans for next season. He will be here for testing next week.'
DW on Wagner’s summer plans: “Yes, the next week’s I will be here. I will go somewhere, but I have no plans yet. I will go to Germany for part of it, but I’ll be in Europe. Then I can fly back and meet players and agents.”
