Where are the FPA when you need them?

I think we have very much gone for it this season, if you look at the quality we had on the bench yesterday then it is obvious that comes at a price. Most Championship clubs run at a loss, so I don't think we need to be pushing any panic buttons just yet.

But, I would not be in the least bit surprised if we sell either Toure or Makama in January though, to balance the books a little. I don't think you can play them in the same team anyway, and I doubt either wants to be a bit part player either.

Squad Costs Ratio is more complicated than it ought to be and the relevant factors aren't either deducible or coterminous with the Accounts. I will post a more extensive analysis shortly.

I haven't smoked in my near 50 years as an Accountant though a little in my teen years but consider this to be back of fag packet in nature.
The good news is clearly the £47 million profit on player sales - our best for many yrars. The SCR enables an addition for this to be made to the Income Turnover base albeit on a 3 year averaging basis. Perhaps then we can add half that to our £40 million Turnover to make an Income base of £65 million or so.

On the expense side from the £57 million we need to deduct the non-squad wages but add in amortisation (basically the smoothing over years of incoming transfer fees). Maybe those adjustments will cancel out.

Of so 57 divided by 65 will be very close to the wire of 85% which is clearly why they need the oprion of some further permissible owner injections on top.
