For squad stability and a 'good feeling' all around this situation needs sorting asap, but what the club should or can do I have absolutely no idea.

I suspect the club have this as in hand as it can be at the moment and I'm happy to let them sort it out. I trust them to resolve it as quickly as they are able but it is a lamentable situation. Happily, it doesn't seem to be impacting on the first team squad at all and he will end up looking nothing but a silly boy, albeit with a very healthy bank balance.

I would expect a termination of contract by mutual consent as soon as Chris H finds a job.

He's not even in consideration for the Leeds job so that's unlikely to happen any time soon.

It seems like a classic stand off. Unfortunately the club can't do very much as to terminate his contract would involve paying out a significant sum and if he won't agree to go on loan they can't make him. Interestingly, that's exactly why Fox was intially left to rot, as he was happy to sit on his contract and wouldn't go on loan in Hughton's first season, although he did last year.

From what I understand Bassong is a pretty difficult character and is probably best kept as far away from the squad as possible.

How far does this go though. To what extent is Bassong being isolated at the moment? Is he still around the club and training with the under 21s? Is he not eating at the canteen etc? I dont really see how all this works

But only in the sense he can sit there drawing his wages for the rest of his contract while his career goes down the tubes.  It would be a surprise if he gets another shot at the Prem now.

Of course football is different from McDonalds because Prem quality players are rare so people like Suarez or Ballotelli are able to get away with stuff that ordinary employees can't.  Bassong's problem is that he's now developing an off-putting track record affecting his performance on the pitch.

In some ways McDonalds is like the Premier league as it is always being advertised, is over hyped and when finished 

leaves you with a sense of disappointment.
