The Football League Show

OK, first up, a confession, I've not watched this show for over three years, can't think why? However, having tuned in last night, I have to say that the format is pants. It's basically, little more than one featured match and a goals show for the rest.

When you consider that the Championship is the fourth most watched league in Europe, surely the League has the potential to have it's own show?

Whilst I doubt the Championship could match the Premier League in terms of TV rights, I can't help but feel we're being "short changed" from a TV perspective.

I say bring back Gerry Harrison and Anglia's "Match of the Week"......when Sunday was a day for watching prolonged highlights of matches in the east.

I don't watch it either, there seems to be little point when extended highlights appear online within a day or two of a game. And agreed, The Championship could have its own MOTD, then there could be one on Sunday for League One & Two, they could split the FLS into two shows.

I will give it up as I come back from game , sit through MOTD and then usually the 

beer takes its toll and drop off and miss our 2 minute highlights.

I record every programme that may show our goals, speak to a member of our staff or offer an opinion about us. I think we have to be a little kind to the BBC in that it is impossible for them to produce any programme that can rival our clubs website or SKY. And in the darkest days of League 1, the BBC was the main source of viewing for us.

I tend to think that  "any news is good news" regarding NCFC.

Can see all the goals on the official YouTube, but only place I know where 'extended highlights' can be seen is Canaries Player, which isn't worth £4 a month. 

Brings it all back to a previous topic on this forum, about the full match replays that Fulham get because they aren't tied to an iFL contract. Although can't imagine many Fulham fans are putting themselves through those at the minute :lol:

Ah, thought as much. I always watch the YouTube highlights because they're better than the dross the FLS gives us.

I usually record it, and just have it on in the background whilst I'm on my laptop. As said the club put extended highlights of each game on youtube anyway so I just watch that.

I go to every home game, and stream any away game I don't go to anyway so I usually see everything that happens in a game anyway. Obviously it's nice to watch the highlights back, especially when you've been at a game, but it doesn't bother me too much.

I use a site called Wiziwig, and they stream every Championship game. Watched the game yesterday on it perfectly.

They don't. Yesterday was the first time this season that had more than one 3pm Saturday game available

Cannot watch on stream here as the internet speed is pretty low, which makes massive buffering problems. Rely on BBC text for match incidents, usually reporting about 3 minutes behind real time so I know what is going on.

Feed2all also had a decent stream. The first though, other than the Wolves and Ipswich matches, as they were televised. 

I watch The Football League Show on Iplayer the next morning and skip along to find the 2 minutes on City. They're at 23 minutes this week.

I don't mind the FLS and have continued to watch it, indeed far more often than MOTD, in the last few years - IMO, and I have a broad interest in the game, the 'Football League' is patently more more interesting than the PL. And I do not need or want to see manager interviews and pundit spouting about each match.

The FLS format may be a bit iffy, but they are trying to cram in 30 games in and it is far better than the poor itv effort it replaced. Obviously there are alternatives if you want to see more depth about our side, but for keeping abreast of what's going on through the leagues, and without Sky, I think it does the job ok.

As people have said, I think it would be a good idea to have a show about the Championship with a similar layout to MOTD, and then have a different programme for Leagues 1 and 2.
