Next year is concerning, end of the top tier of parachute payments. 

Also, accounts seem to suggest that Moxey didn't "resign" as reported, he got compensation which I guess means he was actually given a little shove to help him on his way?

A little worried about how we intend to balance the books for next season, in terms of big money saleable assets we've only really got Pritchard, Maddison and Oliviera. I'd be gutted to lose either of the two former, and whilst Oliviera I'd be less concerned about.... strikers are the most expensive to replace. 

I do wonder whether this summer will be the one where we actually sell to pay people off? E.g. Sell Josh Murphy to pay off Jarvis? 

A cheeky little promotion would solve all of our problems of course, can't see it though.

Heard that Moxey got 700k for his departure, despite only being here for 6 months, seems ridiculous but if it's in his contract he's entitled to it, shame the board didn't put any forethought into that one,

also apparently Alex Neil got £2m for his contract being terminated, I've less of any issue with this one as he did take us from mid-table to 3rd, winning the play-offs in what is probably my best footballing day out which will likely never be topped, before the squad seemingly gave up wanting to play for him

But that pretty much covers the £2.6m with an extra £100k on top

if we're not looking like making the top 6 come the end of January I would expect one or two players to move on, hopefully not Maddison or Pritchard but they are the ones who'd bring in the biggest fees

But he got that £2m due to a contract that he was given by Ed Balls to reward him for relegation. 

I would hope that under Webber we're being better run but you never really know until you look back in retrospect, usually after its all finished and the sh*t has hit the fan.

I'm sure that £2m for relegation isnt quite as bad as it sounds, I imagine it was something like if we go down you get £2m, finish 15th or up £2.5m, top 10 you get £3m, hopefully thats what it was and not just an incentive to take us down

No, Alex Neil and Ed Balls negotiated new terms on his existing contract in the summer after relegation.

Under the terms of that contract we agreed to pay him £2m in compensation if we sacked him, and that is why he got £2m. It wasn't a performance related bonus, it was a clause inserted into his contract.

It is precisely the type of spending you would expect from the protege of Gordon Brown, the man who managed to sell our national gold reserves for a pittance.

Moxey earned £417k in wages for his 174 days in the job, equivalent to £2.4m a year. 

Who on earth gave him that contract? 

If it was Ed Balls just after he gave Alex Neil his fresh contract with £2m dismissal clause.... then lets sack Ed Balls yeah? 

He may be harmless in his current role, but his short stint as interim top boy was a bloody disaster.

Terrible maths there from me.

I saw somebody express his salary as a 'per day' number, which they must have calculated with his compo included. 

£417k + £750k / 174 x 365 = about £2.4m .

His salary would have been around £875k, which still sounds on the high side to me for a used car salesman.
