Accounts: "We are able to trade".

Certainly some positives in the accounts, particularly the £6m profit that we'd carried in to this season to help with subsidising this campaign.

But how did people take McNally's and Bowketts remarks about doing this business this January? Read to me that if Adams wants to bring in players, we need to see some leave? 
 

If I've read between the lines correctly, then I hope we don't see a big sale, can only really think of these players who seem to be surplus to requirements:

Bunn

Becchio

Cuellar

Garrido

Bennett (unfortunately)

I'd certainly hope that we wouldn't get rid of Bennett, but he's just not involved (I think he should be). From the other four, I can't see us finding a new permanent home for any of them in January, can only see loan deals - with three of them then out of contract at the end of the season (Bunn, Cuellar, Garrido). 

Anybody else who could be available for transfer? Have I read it wrong, or does the word "trade" rather than "buy" imply that we are open to doing business on some players?

I also think that we should be seeing more of Garrido, but it is likely that we have two left backs on big money, so trying to part ways with him and replacing with a younger cheaper player would make business sense. 

Rotherham will probably take Becchio on loan for the season if he recovers in time for January, and Bunn will want to put himself in the shop window? I doubt that Cuellar is happy never playing, he turned down Blackburn in the summer, so perhaps they'd be interested in a loan.

A few kids like Loza will probably go out on loan. I'm a bit worried that the club is going to do something silly like cash in on Redmond.

Actually I do not have this worry. We have a squad of over thirty, so departures are paramount to offload the deadwood, and fee up space for arrivals. I cannot see Bennett leaving, but the others on the list are certainly surplus to requirements. Cuellar is a strange one. Why did we sign him then use our fullback in the centre instead. I would like Elliot to be trained as a right back, in the games he has played there he has shown much potential.

CanaryBoy - I didn't really read the comments as having to sell before we buy. The comment was made at the recent supporters group meeting that there was one expected sale on the final day that didn't go through. This was widely assumed to be Bassong.

Bunn also said he wanted regular football, so I would not be surprised to see him go too.

Becchio is out of contract in the summer, so we may cash in there also.

One thing we do need is a wide left player, as Joshua doesn't really look ready for a full role at the moment.

I think Becchio is actually contracted until summer 2016.

Cuellar and Bunn are out of contract, and we could release Garrido at the end of the year if we wish (but also have a one year option).

Does anybody know whether the accounts revealed the Hughton compensation? I'm sure that if I head over to the pink'un I'd find the answer as I have in the past, as they have a couple of accountants who dissect the accounts every year, but I tried to read the pinkun earlier and was getting a huge border ad for a smartphone which was doing my head in!
