If a presentation is what you would like
Then here is my opening move,
Or I could just sing a song, as they do
At Colney, to get in the groove
Born in our City, many moons ago
In time for the ´59 run,
I´ve seen both years of the deepest despair
And the same, of success and fun
Though the mechanics of this unique game
Have changed beyond belief since then,
It´s still eleven v eleven on the turf
And enough to warm the hearts of men
Those who know me, from not606
Or earlier still, the BBC,
Know that the art of verse is my métier
And how I write most naturally
Residing as I do, across the North Sea
In the comfortable land of the Dane,
Carrow Rd I´ve not been to for decades
Since the days of Stringer and Payne
But my support has never once waned
Despite such a watery divide,
And to see us revelling in PL times
Always filled me with joy and pride
Sad as I was last year to see us fall
From grace, I´ve been pleasantly surprised,
At how good a job Adams so far has done
That my opinion of him´s been revised
Whether we will just bounce back once again
Is hard, at this time, to know,
But the squad assembled does look very strong
Strong enough to give it a go
So if I do describe current events
In my way, with a touch of verse,
I hope you´ll all take it with a knowing smile
And not fume, or explode or curse. OTBC
