Some games must soon be won

I don´t care how it´s done,

To stop the rot and ease our lot

Or this may end like Gunn

There are some who profess

Beauty, and nothing less,

Will do these days but what really pays

Is goals in t´other´s nets

And how that is achieved

No-one has yet conceived

A foolproof plan for, or that can

Even be well received

Possession´s all the rage

It´s effect hard to gauge,

From side to side and then out wide

Then back, for a new page

Sometimes the direct route

Can even now bear fruit,

And should that mean three points are seen

Then it´s hard to refute

For artistic impression

If high, in ones possession,

Unlike Ice Dance, does not enhance

Our points in any session

Priority should be

Scoring efficiency,

And a defence who play with sense

Not generosity

So, beauty or the beast?

For now the beast must feast,

Till wins return and we don´t spurn

One chance in two, at least

And once that is the case

Then beauty has a place,

And we´ve a team, with a head of steam

Who ´beauty´ won´t disgrace. OTBC

Hello Sussex,

I´m not really in it for the replies, although any are welcome, just my way of commenting on footballing matters, which has been my way for several years now - would feel a bit lost without it. Fortunately it entertains me as much as I hope it does others.

No, absolutely agree gerry - I´ve thought for quite a while now that Adams is trying too hard to play eye-catching and pleasing football at whatever cost, instead of concentrating on winning at any cost.

what we do need is a viable alternative to start on the left;  josh is not ready and a loan could give us a boost

Be a recipe that rhymes,

Fancy football´s very well

But only if the net can swell,

Play like ´Real´ if you can

If not, have another plan,

Adams made a promise here

Which is now biting his rear,

For his sake and all ours too

We need more to get us through,

And Watling I agree in part

Tomorrow would be time to start,

Otherwise those fourteen days
