Best player of the Season so far?

Just deleted my vote for Jerome and voted for Johnson instead. As I've said before, I've always been a big fan of his, but this season he is really turning it on. Some of his goals are fantastic, and he just radiates passion for this club. Absolutely love him, definitely gets my vote.

For me it's:

1. Johnson

2. Jerome

3. Redmond

Wouldn't be surprised to see Grabban sneak in there though if he continues this run.

Was having this discussion with my friend earlier, if the season was to end now how would win player of the year.

We both agreed that it would be between Johnson and Jerome, with Johnson just edging it, as for who would take 3rd place, no idea could be anyone, Grabban scoring home and away against Ipswich surely gives his chances a boost though

Johnson's work-rate, this past few months especially, has been phenomenal, and I think it's rubbed off on others around him.

If I took the goals out of the equation I'd say that Johnson's performances this season have been, on average, alright but not great.

But he has scored the goals. Lots of them. And I can't argue with that, so he'll be getting my vote as it stands.

I'm sticking with Jerome for the moment for his ability to score game winning goals throughout the season, but Johnson is certainly pressing him close.

I see the main contenders, in no particular order, as Jerome, Johnson, Tetty, and Howson.

Jerome For his goals.

Johnson for his battling positive approach, and goals.

Tetty, as has been mentioned on earlier posts, with him shielding the back four we are a real defensive unit.

Howson is a player who makes the attacking impetus tick.

The last two players were long term injured earlier in the season. Is it no coincidence that now they are fully fit and regular starters we are playing so much better?

So who am I voting for? I am not just yet as I believe, from my place in the sun, and having only reports and posters opinions to go on, there is very little difference between the main contenders.

You're right about Howson and Tettey, MG, as much that they do is less spectacular than that of Jerome and Johnson. Russell Martin could be in with a chance as well.

for me Johnson wins this hands down this year, with Jerome in second, I think 3rd will go to either Wes or Martin, but to be honest it could go to anyone

It's finding a position for him that suits him and the team better.
