Buying away tickets as an exile...

I want to go to the Sheff Wed game on Saturday.

I'm currently on the ticketing portal and my options are 'post', or 'collect'.

Presumably this means collect from Carrow Road.

I usually buy early enough to get them by post which clearly isn't going to happen here (I was going to go with a Sheff Wed supporting relative of my wife, but as this is my first game of the season I've decided to sit in the away area). 

Does anybody know if you can generally phone the home club to buy tickets in the away area for collection from the ground, or have I messed up here?

Will be phoning Sheff Wed box office tomorrow morning regardless, and will pay on the gate for the home end if I have to, just wanted to know if anybody has made this mistake before and whether it can usually be sorted (if there are unsold away tickets?).

May be worth phoning our ticket office. I would have thought that there would be an option to buy through them and collect at the Owls ticket office.

I'll give them a call in the morning, will also try the Sheff Wed ticket office. Failing that, I'm in the home end and putting on my best Yorkshire accent.

Normally if collecting for an away game the tickets go on the team bus and are collectable from the away grounds ticket office. I've done this a few times, but not this season admittedly. Well worth the phone call I'd say!

Phoned the box office. I can buy a ticket from the ground tomorrow at Gate 6, and there are plenty of tickets left. 

Should imagine that with Hillsborough being such a large ground they will just sell as many as are required for away fans, heard that we've sold over 2000 but ticket office said that I'd have no problem paying cash at the ground.

Should also add that I could have paid over the phone and collected from the ground (Hillsborough), so was no problem at all, but I really don't like reading out credit card numbers on a phone line, something just never feels right about that. 

Of course, for many away games we sell our allocation and the above wouldn't be possible at last minute.

I've never had a problem when I order a ticket late and the club sends it for collection at the other club ticket office.

Ironically away tickets are harder to get this year than last season in the Prem, presumably its down to smaller grounds and better away performances?

Also I've never had a problem ordering City tickets paying by CC over the phone.

A question, presumably, if you buy on the day at the ground, rather than via the club, you don't get your 50 points added to your total?

May not unduly concern some, but there have been a few games so far (definately Ipswich & Forest) where you need so many points in the bag to get first dibs at purchasing?
