Funnily enough (but only going on reports from Swindon fans) I'm most excited about Toffolo coming through. Supposed to have been excellent for them this season. They're top two as well.

Loza won't make it at this level. I'm sure he'll make a career out of playing football but I can't see him doing it for us or a club of a similar stature.
Gut feeling is that Josh Murphy won't go beyond Norwich either.

Somebody should tell him that this didn't work out well for Micky Spillane, who requested a transfer because Lambert couldn't guarantee him regular football in the Championship. Now playing for Sutton United at 25.
Bet he'd now bite your arm off if you offered a couple of grand a week and 10 to 15 Championship games a season.

There's a fine line between success and failure though isn't there, Ian Henderson had a couple of poor years where he could easily have ended up playing part-time for Lowestoft like many of his former colleagues, but then he found some form and has had a very good three or four years and done pretty well for himself.
Carlton Morris looks like he could be the next Adrian Coote, very highly rated at youth level but can't score for toffee in mens football..... 0 in 7 for Oxford, 0 in 7 for York.

Morris is only coming on for the last 15 minutes each game for perennial strugglers York, who aren't even scoring a goal a game. That is one reason why I questioned the wisdom of sending players out on loan. Toffolo and Thompson, although Thompson was a Swindon player anyway, are getting full game time for a team at the top and probably in the Championship next year.
Surely Morris would benefit more being around Carrow Road than Bootham Crescent.
And wasn't Henderson hounded out of Carrow Road by the boo boys?

I agree, 'seasoned pros' also make mistakes all the time but seem to get away with it. If a youngster makes the same mistake his ability is questioned.The reason Murphy didn't get a run of games is that there is no time to let youngsters make mistakes at first team level. Had he been guaranteed a run of, say, three games and City had lost them with him contributing little, this and every other forum would have been crawling with posters demanding to know why the manager had sacrificed our promotion chances by playing kids instead of players proven at this level.
People are happy to demand that managers play kids but if they fail how many of them will say "my mistake" rather than demanding the sacking of the manager? It's so easy to make decisions from the comfort of an armchair
I dont care who makes the mistakes (not sure the kids would make a significantly greater proportion), but at least the kids might learn from it instead of doing it week in week out. You cant teach an old dog new tricks - but what about the young ones?

What of the ones we dont know about though? Is there a conveyor belt of new youngsters coming up behind our current ones (like shark teeth) or is this just a particularly good crop. You would hope that there is a whole propagation considering the acadamy investment

Always thought of Morris as being a bit like Wilbraham. Dont think he will ever be the most prolific of goalscorers, but will offer a lot in terms of holding up the ball etc

I don't think he is quite good enough yet. Certainly has the potential to be a very good player though. I think it would be a stupid move now to try and integrate him into the first team now. Look at Josh Murphy. Some fans were even saying he should be starting over Redmond earlier on in the season because of the odd good performance off the bench, I think it's clear now though that Josh isn't really ready. I think a load to a Championship/Top League 1 club next season could benefit McGeehan a lot.
We certainly have a lot of promising youngsters coming through though. McGeehan, Josh, Jacob, McGrandles, Thompson, Toffolo, Loza. One that people forget as well is Cameron King, who plays centre midfield for our youth team alongside McGeehan, and has played for Scotland under 21's. I think he could certainly benefit from a loan spell.

petulant kick after keeper deliberately stood on his foot. Right decision by ref (a bit more than flick of laces that money selectively saw - the boot did follow through but not the worst either), probably some retro action for keeper needed too, and cam should be looking to avoid that type of reaction in future.
Be good to loan him back out again once suspension done.

Just had a quick look at the U18 squad on the official site and I think we may be cheating a little....
Apparently he was born in 1997, I can only assume that he's falsified his passport :lol:
Now I feel really old, he's two years younger than Common People by Pulp.
