Candidates for managers job?

If we did sack Adams, who would we want to replace him? 

My first suggestion is Simon Grayson, if we could tempt him. Was promoted with Blackpool, promoted with Leeds, promoted with Huddersfield, and is 2nd in the league with Preston. 

Plus he played positive attacking football at Leeds and has worked with Howson, Johnson and Becchio in the past. A man who has been promoted with every club he has been at, and all three of his former clubs are still in the league that he took them into. It would also annoy Leeds fans.

My second suggestion is Glenn Hoddle, whether he'd be interested or not I don't know but he has said that he wants to get back into football and is currently working behind the scenes at QPR, just as Steve McLaren was before he took the Derby job. 

Is all well and good saying that we want the manager sacked, but we need to back it up with a few ideas for alternatives?

Well they've already searched the whole of europe to replace Hughton so doubt there is anyone else whos better than Adams.

My choice before Adams was appointed was Tim Sherwood, I think it would be fun.

I would venture Michael Laudrup is bored although probably wealthy in Qatar. Has experience in this country and plays attractive attacking football.

Is Mackay allowed to manage any club with what's gone on recently with him? I know that it turns out that he's probably not a nice human being, but he would be my first choice personally. Apart from that I'd go with Zola. 

There's not really too many candidates that stand out for me.

Zola was my original choice, but I honestly don't think he is more likely to get us promoted.

Would hate Malky to be manager. Awful style of play when he was at Cardiff, and the Tan/FA dossier would rule him out thankfully.

I liked Sherwood, but he's a little too volatile I think. 

Zola has had more experience than Adams, so he's a possibility I guess. Otherwise, I can't think of anyone offhand. Wished we had appointed Lennon but I guess it's too late now.

Sean Dyche would be great if (1) he gets sacked and (2) not snapped up by another PL club - So pretty unlikely now!

I saw a major poll for Villa fans asking whether Lambert should be sacked. Only 12% said no. 

Whilst they haven't been happy with him since pretty much day one, I'm not sure that any manager could survive such an overwhelming majority calling for his dismissal and I don't expect him to be in a job come the 1st January. 

So my choice is Lambert. Yes the chances are slim, it would require some big egos to kiss and make up. But I can dream, can't I? 

In hindsight, we should have appointed Lennon in the summer. Easy to say now of course, because I was calling for Malky. I'm not even the "Malky should never work again" club, he is hardly Ched Evans is he, but I'd consider him too much of a risk and he probably needs to go further down the league system to a club with nothing much to lose to rebuild his reputation.

I was firmly in the Lennon camp in the summer but that opportunity has gone.

I think Sherwood is a good call. I was surprised he didn't get Brighton. Pulis would be fun but I doubt it's realistic.

Beyond that it becomes a gamble.

How will Russell Slade do at Cardiff?

Well you can get 33/1 on Sherwood now. 25/1 on Pulis. Zola & Malky favs at 12/1.

But that means nothing as Adams is still in his job.

I suggested a couple of weeks back and see commentator Dan O'hagan on twitter is saying the same thing in bringing in someone like Worthington to help out Adams.

I reckon bringing someone in with experience to help Adams will come before sacking him.

If experience is the requirement there are loads of ex-managers out there who would kill for the opportunity of a last pay-day, think the Curbishley generation, but would anybody really want them?

I don't care what happens because the Club won't ask me if the manager should be sacked or not, I just want to see a team that can concentrate for ninety minutes.

Hodgson allegedly said ,when he was Fulham manager, that he couldn't teach the players anything about football skills as they had learned these as their careers progressed but he could teach them to concentrate for 90+ minutes. Should be the role of every manager.

I wanted Lenon before the farcical appointment of the radio presenter, so Pulis would be my choice now......although I seriously doubt we could tempt him.

Before anyone says I'm censoring, I say this as a poster, not a moderator, but can we try and show the bloke some respect? I no longer want him to be in a job, but let's not fall into calling him "The Radio Presenter" or, "The DJ". We've seen it before from our fans ("The Cook", "Clueless Chris"). I'm sure we can criticise without having to come up with some silly nickname or slogan, it's childish.

I suspect that Zola will be the favourite but what about Karl Robinson? I reckon he is ready for a move up to bigger club and has seen out a good apprenticeship at MK.
