Chris Hughton could yet be Norwich's salvation.

Front runner for the Watford job apparently. Has to improve our chances of an automatic promotion slot! Also seems an obvious choice for a loan for Bassong!

Thing is, Hughton in the Championship will probably do a job, eeking out those 1-0 wins on a Tuesday night in Brentford.

Will be boring as sin to watch, but he'll probably do a job.

He did well in the Champs.... with what was probably the strongest squad this division has ever seen.

Not sure Watford would go for Hughton to be honest. Watford fans didn't seem to be very happy with the football that they were playing under Sannino, that would only get worse if Hughton was appointed.

Deeney will bugger off in January for sure if Hughton gets the nod.

Everyone doing Chrissy a bit of a disservice here. His Championship record stands up pretty well and that Birmingham side he managed to 4th certainly weren't the strongest squad that the division has ever seen.

Just because things didn't work out for him here doesn't mean he'll fail everywhere else, just as his previous success with Newcastle and Birmingham in the Championship didn't guarantee that he'd succeed with us.

He was and would be a terrible manager in any league.

I am only interested in what he done at Norwich.

Based on the 50 or so games I watched live with

him in charge he rates of one of the worst Norwich managers

I have personally witnessed ( going back to Lol Morgan )

His lack of inspiration, tactics, team selection and overall

lack of belief in proper football apply to all divisions.

Chris Hughton is not a bad manager.  He is a competent and even perhaps a good manager.  he has shown that at other clubs.

He badly lost his way at Norwich and was pretty disastrous in the end for us.   It was right to sack him.   He is no more a bad manager than David Moyes after last season or Brian Clough after Leeds.  Sometimes it doesn't work.

Criticise his record at Norwich by all means though even then you'd struggle to say he was a bad manager taking account of his first season, but there is no justification for attacking his general ability..

He kept us up for a season, got promoted with a huge points total at Newcastle and took a broke Birmingham City side to the play offs. If you are so short sighted as to base what somebody does at Norwich as how good they are for their entire career then I really don't know what to say.

I think you're maybe letting the emotion of last season get the better of you.

I can name 3 worse just in the last 10 years.

OK, it went bad in the end, and the football was dire at times. But come on. We've had some absolute dross over the years.

I certainly think that he would be considered a good Championship manager, but just like players are better in the Premier League the managers are too, and the list of managers who have had great Championship careers but struggled at the highest level is almost endless - Neil Warnock is one of them, Nigel Worthington is another.

Neil Adams could prove to be one too.

Hughton was the wrong appointment for us, and stayed in the job too long (fault of the board not his), but completely agree that he'd probably be a great appointment for a mid-table or top half Championship team.

If I were a Fulham fan I'd be delighted if the board appointed Hughton right now.

Never posted on the ridiculous pink un site.

Comparison to Moyes and Clough are insulting to both of those managers. He appears to not have been offered a new job yet

and when a good championship job arises I doubt if he will get that.

I would not struggle to say he was a bad manager in his first season as he was. Dreadful football and survival

at 11 th hour courtesy of 2 teams with nothing to play for.

I can and will attack his general ability based on the games I have seen with him in charge. He could not motivate probably

the best set of players I have seen at this club for the 45 years I have been regularly watching Norwich City.

Formations constantly wrong, poor team selection and like for like substitutions that produced about 1 goal in 2 seasons

( stat to be checked ). He got just about everything wrong.

The fans who delude themselves that he is a good manager are the ones who defended him when he should have done

and as a result now find us in the Championship.

I would be interested for you to name 3 managers over past 10 years who you would consider be be worse than Hopeless Hugh.

I will. Grant, Roeder and Gunn were all worse, IMO. Hughton's final failure was due to the loss of confidence in the players which he couldn't reverse.

I'm not saying Hughton was/is a great manager. But, I think calling him the worst ever is over-egging the omelet a little.
