Really pleased that it was Whittaker who got that goal after all the flack he's taken, mostly unfairly, IMO. Another very professional performance and there's much to build on for the rest of the season.

We can give players a caning on here at times so it is only fair when one of those who has come in for some tap recently, and some was perfectly justified, starts improving and now seems to be relishing his games, it is right and proper to praise Steven Whittaker for his recent performances and hope that with his obvious attacking ability, we can finally put the RB position in the sorted out box and realise Martin is going to be CB.

Hope you put your helmet on after that EPB, but on the whole I agree. Players need a run of games to show their best and that seems true of both Whittaker and Martin. I also wonder if this might have something to do with Phelan's 'one on one' sessions with players, aimed at improving their performance. Long may it continue!
