Particularly Hughtonesque were the words "fine margins" being used by Adams after the last game, which was one of Hughton's favourite phrases.

There are some fundamentals we are getting wrong. The persistence with Russell Martin at CB for example. Yes he can fill in there and plays there for Scotland ( who else have they got?), but he is a better RB and would be much better there than the inept Whittaker.

If I was Hoiveld , Miqule or Cuellar I would be asking questions. Get up to speed quick Ryan Bennett!

I think he said we were excellent tonight ,which was a Hughton favourite. Was waiting to hear the old " these are a quality side" which Leeds, Rotheram , Fulham and Charlton are not.
We have plenty of possession yes but that's irrelevant if you come away with nothing. Really frustrating to watch.

More frustrating was the manner of the performance. I cannot imagine why he thinks we were excellent tonight. We persisted with width from two players who were being muscled off the ball too easily and we were over powered in midfield. There was a frustrating lack of speed to out attacks and almost every time we stopped, turned and play the ball sideways / backwards which allowed Leeds to organise. Crossing wasn't great but we had nothing in the middle.

I thought Vadis looked promising when he came on and we seemed to have more about us then.

Really poor goal to concede. Yet again the defence have let us down. Turner was his usual reliable self but to be honest, the rest looked poor a lot the time.

Howson was ok as was Tettey but two of them in th middle trying to combat 4 or 5 at times was never going to be great. Jerome and Lafs had no service to speak of and the slow attacks meant that the defence was packed when we did get close enough.

I thought Leeds work rate was better than ours as well. They pressed a lot better and a lot higher putting the defence under pressure.

Clattenberg had another shocker. Let Leeds dominate physically and repeatedly foul / time waste.

Overall, not a great day at the office. Got to be time to try others. Cellar, Miquel, Garrido, Vadis, Benno, etc. must be wondering what they have to do to get a game.

Come on Neil. Show us what you're made of. Ring the changes and don't be afraid to drop martin et al!!

Yet again, when in offensive mode, the wingers were often pushed on so we were more of a 4-2-4 formation, rather than 4-4-2. That's OK when the ball actually goes wide, but, all too often Tettey and Howson were deeper and trying to find the front men through an opposition midfield of 4 or 5 players. This meant their only "out" ball was usually the full backs

I think those criticisms are fair enough, but Adams did change things in much the way Surgeryman was asking for (Johnson, Wes and Grabban replaced by Tettey, Josh and Lafferty. For me, the disappointment was the 4-4-2 formation which is just too predictable against a packed defense. Howson did well to try to link midfield with the strikers, but too often it was just hopeful balls ineffectively crossed into the area by both wingers. I hope to see Odjidja-Ofoe in the hole of a 4-2-3-1 against SW on Saturday, as he did produce a threat during his 15 minute cameo. With Wes out, that is our best hope of getting back on track, IMO. I wouldn't criticize a defense too much when it only allowed 4 shots, only one of which was on target. City, by comparison, had around 20 shots, 7 on target.

The performances are becoming more and more frustrating, I do however feel it is just a spell. I think a couple of wins in a row and we'll be back on track personally. It is a little bit worrying though and if it continues then the pressure will start to pile on Adams.
