That'd be brilliant if we could sign Dorrans and keep hold of Olsson. I think though a left winger has to be the priority once the loan window opens.

That said though, it's worth remembering how good Bradley Johnson was in the few games he played left wing for us, so he's certainly an option.

This sounds better all the time. Andreu and Dorrans, with only Lafferty leaving is excellent. This latest clip is misleading because the games at Livingston were at a lower level, but atleast they give a glimpse of his ability to thread a throughball as well. Scoring 12 in 23 games in the Scottish Premiership is a good indication, IMO. He has to adjust and get used to our players though, so it won't be immediate.

I got excited by the goal return for Andreu too until I remembered how many hooper got there and and what he has done for us since.  But £1m aint much and he understands AN system,  if he brings graft,  incisive passing and a goal threat he could be a bargain.

If we can now get Jarvis in or resurrect Noone on loan than that would be perfect - if not I will be very happy to have BJ starting left ahead of either bennett or murphy.

And if Dorans does arrive then its an excellent window for us overall.

Nice to see a bit of posativity about our transfer day dealings.

I have to admit I was slightly, initially, underwhelmed, but the fact we didn't lose anyone shouldn't be underestimated.

Agree we still desperately need a left sided midfielder / winger though.

West Brom released Samaras a couple of weeks ago and he joined some Middle Eastern team on a six month deal, he would have been an interesting loan signing on that left side.

For what seemed a quiet window, we've done quite well really. What is in effect replacing Hooiveld with Bassong, now that he's back in the team, is in itself a potentially big gain whilst saving on salary. Lafferty going on loan is also a saving and he's still our player and says he wants to return to CR in the summer. If the Dorrans loan deal is true, he and Andreu will add valuable options in the AM department which should strengthen the squad overall. Well done Neil and McNally.
