What they need is real leaders to drag them out of trouble.

So they bring in a shot to pieces pisshead, sort of feel sorry for them tbh.

If you just want a defender to break up attacks and clear the lines he’s perfectly adequate, will need to be paired with somebody young and quick though. As long as they’re not expecting him to play any tippy tappy nonsense he’ll be fine

Despite the negative view of him amongst supporters, his positive influence on the dressing room as a “strong character” has been mentioned a few times recently by players and staff. For a team struggling near the bottom that could be as valuable as skill on the pitch. Let’s hope it doesn’t help Derby in the next game.

I don't disagree with that at all, but he certainly has baggage unfortunately. If he is genuinely good for the team then you can turn a blind eye to his other character flaws, such as the boozing and abusing fans on social media
