If he is the figurehead then fair enough but we need to look, for better or worse, to something better than celebrity for our board. Otherwise, just ask a long time supporter to join the board.
I have no clue where we will find the right investor or even if they exist but I do know that the way football is evolving and the way many supporters see the Premier league as vital, then we can't survive at the top with"With that foundation, the challenge for all of us at Norwich is to go from the up-and-down fortunes I have known since I was a boy to an era of sustained success, and I will be proud to play my part in that."

NEW Norwich City chairman Edward Michael Balls was born in Norwich on February 25, 1967, and is a lifelong supporter of Norwich City Football Club.
Having started life in Norwich, his family moved to Nottingham when Mr Balls was 8. He attended Bawburgh County Primary, Crossdale Drive Primary School, and then Nottingham High School. Mr Balls went on to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Keble College, Oxford (First class honours), and economics and politics (MPA) at the John F Kennedy School of Government, Harvard, where he was a Kennedy Scholar and an economic Teaching Fellow.
He joined the Financial Times in 1990 as an economic leader writer until his appointment as an economic adviser to Shadow Chancellor Gordon Brown in 1994. When Labour won the 1997 general election, Brown became Chancellor and Mr Balls continued to work as his economic adviser and went on to be appointed Chief Economic Adviser to HM Treasury.
A former Member of Parliament for the Labour Party, Mr Balls served as MP for Normanton from 2005-10 and then the new Morley and Outwood constituency from 2010 to 2015.
He has held a number of Cabinet and Shadow Cabinet positions for the Labour Party, including:
May 2006 to June 2007 - Economic Secretary to the Treasury
June 2007 to May 2010 - Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families
May 2010 to October 2010 - Shadow Secretary of State for Education
October 2010 to January 2011 - Shadow Home Secretary
January 2011 to May 2015 - Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer

He is married to former Secretary of State for Work and Pensions Yvette Cooper MP, Member of Parliament for Normanton, Pontefract and Castleford. They have three children.
Sounds pretty well qualified for the job to me!

Unless Bowkett leaving was a sign of the club [well, Delia] wanting to move in another direction - ie, changing our philosiphy on being self sufficienct financially then I can't see a huge amount changing.

All I am saying is that as Chairman of NCFC, I don't think he is any more qualified than many life long supporters. Of course he will have the respect of those who chose him, that is obvious and you and I would not. But if he is just a replacement then I'm not overly impressed.
Put it this way, this news is like getting Rita Ora's biography rather Tom Jones I got as a Xmas present.

I just smiled and laughed when I heard this, I dont really know why, but I did.......probably because whenever he has been on TV as a serious politician he has made me smile each time......happy to see how it goes though!
