Reviewing the odds regarding the next Norwich manager - Eddie Howe is 20/1

With the Bournemouth match coming up, I am reminded of our game in 1996? I think, against Leicester. Martin O'Neill had been our manager, but resigned just before the game - which went ahead with both teams managerless, only, as we all know, for O'Neill to become Leicester manager, although everybody knew where he was going.

I am also reminded of the 7-1 loss against Lambert's Colchester, only for us to appoint our tormentor.

So I will ask the question - with the deck stacked the way it currently is, would Eddie Howe leave Bournemouth to come here if we wanted him? If he would consider the job a step up (despite falling down the table) would he leave before the game a la O'Neill, or after his team has dispatched ours a la Lambert.

I dont think he will be our guy. But what id he is? Just suppose Howe is McNally's main target. Its an interesting situation

Two things for me.

First, if he hadn't already gone to Burnley, and got his fingers burnt, then I feel we would have a much better chance

Secondly, he is on the verge of great things  at the mo, and cannot see him (decent bloke by all impressions) leaving Bournemouth now.

I would have loved him here, last season.

Howe would certainly be expensive, without being that proven as a manager. He's done well at Bournemouth, but the Burnley failue raises questions. Can't see it happening, but I've been wrong before!

I think that Bournemouth's chairman stating yesterday that Eddie Howe would manage Bournemouth in the Premier League next season can be seen as a definite hands-off warning .Given the increasing possibility that Bournemouth will be a (lower league) EPL club next season I couldn't see Howe leaving for anything below a mid-table Premier League club at this time.  Newcastle might have a chance, but I don't think Norwich would.

Surely this just reflects betting patterns though doesnt it? Not a betting man but rememebr some of the betting discussions from the pinkun people said SkyBet's odds were very reflective of betting patterns. Also that sky sports could generate their own rumours then encourage betting via their site was also questioned
