Are we giving it up to try and be like a boring old Arsenal team that always won one nil?

Obviously if its effective, all well and good, but are we willing to sacrifice entertainment to achieve success?

If we'd have got a last minute winner last night most people would have gone home happy with the win but concerns would still have been around how we played. In short, I don't know ?

Rightly or wrongly, we have always been known as a club who play "proper" football. I think we have seen already that quite a few are struggling to have patience for the change. I mean people will say things like "I'd rather see us lose 4-3, but at least we gave it a good go" but is that really true?

Would folks be happy with clinical 1 nil every week?

Compared to losing an exciting match ? Then yes a clinical 1 niller  every time

Said after the Birmingham game I'd take that result all season long.

If you want to get near the top of this league you have to be able to keep the goals out and grind it out.

I understand what your saying GJP, and agree to a point, but for me you grind out results against teams that generally are superior to you and the only way to get a result is to grind it out. Birmingham were very poor and not a team we should be considering to grind out a result from, likewise Burton..... away to Boro, even Sheffield United,  then yes happy to come away with a well earned ground out point.

Well not necessarily because you will get teams like Burton that park the bus and it makes it difficult to play adventurous/creative football so you have to grind it.

Teams that get promoted out of this league aren't always that great to watch. Even Bournemouth, commonly praised for their style of football, weren't actually that exciting to watch.

The question which leapt into my little brain after the Sheff Utd result was about the personnel and tactics for Tuesday against Burton.

I am well pleased to see some organisation brought into our defense and it's been a very long while we've been calling out for the ability to see out games in a professional manner. Farke has a reputation for getting his team's defending well.

BUT ......

Have they worked out how to break down a team who parks the bus against us? Such as Burton this week.

The question which leapt into my little brain after the Sheff Utd result was about the personnel and tactics for Tuesday against Burton.

I am well pleased to see some organisation brought into our defense and it's been a very long while we've been calling out for the ability to see out games in a professional manner. Farke has a reputation for getting his team's defending well.

BUT ......

Have they worked out how to break down a team who parks the bus against us? Such as Burton this week. 

You have to have pace in your team to do that, players running at the opposition with pace will drag them into places they don't want to go to. Wildschut showed that yesterday, he is the pacy, strong outlet that we need in games against determined opposition. Movement off the ball is also vital.

Our current system will all make a bit more sense when Pritchard is back, perfect player for a counter attacking team. 

Nothing wrong with a good old fashioned smash and grab, and we'll see a few of those this season, we were hardly Barcelona under Lambert and nothing about the "Norwich Way" says that you have to feel entitled to score 3 goals every week, three consecutive managers have attempted to play "attacking football" here and the result was people moaning about the performances of defenders who were left with no defensive screen.

We're defending as a team under Farke and I like it. Yesterday was the moment I really started buying into Farke, the players are working their socks off for each other and building and an affinity with the fans. 

Wildschut also proving that you shouldn't write a player off too soon, and I was impressed with Marley Watkins when he came on. Didn't realise that Watkins was so quick for a big man actually.

We have been quite unlucky to lose Pritchard, as I think that he would have been a player that we were building around.

Felt like he was a write off and surplus to requirements this summer, but he's a decent player and a good pro and has shown a bit of versatility this season. Could probably fill in as a striker also if injuries or suspensions leave us short?

I think sometimes the catalyst of a new manager can give players a fresh start. It must have been difficult for Yanic to come in when he did as really Norwich City weren't in good shape, or in a good place. The position we were in put him under tremendous pressure to deliver immediately, and it came as no surprise when he didn't, what didn't help was Alex Neil perhaps being a bit rigid in trying to shoehorn certain players into the side, regardless of their form.

I'm glad Yanic is looking like he is starting to settle, because he really is a decent player.
