Just use it as a game for those who need minutes / a chance to impress / some time in the shop window and see what happens. I would start Grabban and Whittaker for example. Perhaps give Loza some minutes if he isn't out on loan?

He could fall down the stairs at home, break his neck and never play again. You can't pick teams based on the fact somebody "might" get injured.
Thats something to look forward to, Splutcho! :)

AN has mentioned on more than one occasion about players not playing two or three games close together. He has rested Wes and others under those conditions in the past week or two.

I'm not convinced that our key players, who represent our best hope of avoiding relegation should be played in this game.

It's not a must win game, we won't get League points from it.

Birmingham springs to mind. And of course Wigan.
yes but both teams were hardly premier league Giants when they were relegated. I'd suggest that the fans would take a cup in exchange for an early relegation.

didnt Sunderland and Norwich both go down in 1985? I bet people can still remember the Wembley game but wouldn't have a clue about the other 2 played out that year

Soooooo, how many of you advocating putting out a second string have shelled out for tickets?

I can go and watch the U21's play for free at Carrow road whenever I want, is it churlish of me to expect a bit of entertainment on Saturday, for my money?

;)

I'll be there.  And although I am relaxed about the selection (3 games in 7 days  with two big league fixtures at Stoke and and Bournemouth to follow means that three are bound to be appearances for fringe players) I don't want to see us go out of the cup and will be cheering us on.  I would love a cup run and don't think necessarily that it should affect us in the league if we do.  I agree with Splutcho - the defeats against Leicester, Luton and Shrewsbury were the starters for dire league form after it.

and as for the Birmingham and Wigan examples so often given, might it have had more to do with the fact that both were poor all, season in the league and might just have gone down anyway??  As the great Josiah Bartlett himself would have said to that argument - 'Post hoc ergo prompter hoc' is hardly ever true! A cup run does not cause relegation...*bleep* poor performance over 38 league games is the only thing that will do that!

No problem with some team tinkering for this one, but want it to be taken seriously as desperate for a Cup run and another away day at Wembley!

It was good performances in the league cup which saw Bennett and Rudd handed their first team chance. We thrashed West Brom and matched Everton with 'rotated' squads. And I doubt anybody who bought a West Brom ticket felt insufficiently entertained. I'd use the game to look at some new combos. How about a midfield three of Tettey, Mulumbu and Vadis. We haven't seen that yet have we?

I think entertainment is the key issue with this one. Surely no-one will criticise any line up that AN puts out. Of course we would love a cup run and a second Wembley visit in successive seasons would be brilliant for all.

If he puts out a full strength line up then it signals his intent to take the competition as a chance to further mould together the side but if he decides that his best chance of success this season is to stay in the Premier League and "rests" some then that is fine.

The third option is to experiment of course. And some new signings before the weekend might give that opportunity but I'm not expecting that.

But I think most will see this game as a one off and just look for some goals and exciting play, weather permitting of course.

I would at least like to see Jerome up front, with Ofoe just behind him in the Wes role.

Really not interested in shop windowing players like Grabban or Lafferty.

And I would keep the back 5 the same, the more a defensive unit plays together, the better they become.

If it looks like Lafferty's departure is imminent and Grabban's a distinct possibility, then I would imagine their new clubs would ask for them not to play.

We can only hope....
Agreed but just posted soem news on the Transfer Gossip topic on the Lafferty deal.

Is Grabban injured by the way? No shows even on the bench and yet was first choice a few games ago.

I reckon we'll never actually know whats going on with Grabban.

Thing is, we may all actually have it all wrong, I am not sure, but I don't think he has ever actually said he wants to leave Norwich.

He has never really worked out though has he. He did OK initially under Adams but I don't really believe he endeared himself to the fans. Some players never do no matter what they do.

And is it true he doesn't live in the area?

Would much rather we focused on the league. If we get through then fair enough as we can keep giving some opportunities to those who aren't playing, but as I said I'd sooner we put all our efforts into staying in the league. Plus we have an away game against Stoke on the Wednesday after this game I think, and then Bournemouth away on the Saturday, so a lot of our first team players will be knackered if they play 3 games in a week, so it's a chance to give them a rest.

Ruddy
Whittaker Wisdom Martin Olsson
Odjidja Dorrans Mulumbu Jarvis
Grabban Lafferty

Really can't see Lafferty playing because Leeds won't want him cup tied (good chance of progressing, they've got Rotherham at home).

I really hope we dont. I'd rather we focus on winning every game. Play a weakened team in the Norfolk fa senior cup by all means but not this one.

Having bought tickets, I would not be best pleased if that was the team!
