Can't help it Morty. I have supported this club since I was about 15 (60 years) and I have never felt so disillusioned as I do now. I never thought we would be struggling as much as we are. Naive maybe or just plain stupid. As many have pointed out we are too good for the Chumps but not good enough for the PL, so we go round and round in bloody circles which is not my idea of progress or fun. We are ridiculed in the footballing world and I really don't like that, that really pi$$es me off, we used to be respected, but now?

Is it? Giannoulis and Williams aren't as good for us as Lewis was.

We have nobody in midfield with the combativeness of Tettey.

Pukki, arguably, is on the decline. Although I would not write him off if we can get the right players around him.

And we have lost Buendia. He was always going to be tough to replace but nobody is looking close to it.

Infact, based on what we've seen so far, if you gave me a choice of having all the players we've signed or Buendia I think I'd rather the latter.

I'm a mere junior and have only been going to Carrow road for 30 years, and I definitely feel we have been in a worse state than this. I feel that article I posted above sums up my feelings quite well, it isn't Norwich City that are broken, it's football that is.

I agree with you there morky for the most part, but unfortunately football isn't changing any time soon.

I'm not telling you anything. I'm illustrating that we have the squad we can afford. You can only decide after the fact if you have enough players, I'm sure last time in this league, in retrospect, we wish we had bought another central defender.

We would actually be better off if the "big six" pissed off to their Super league, and took Sky with them.

A friend of mine, said that we should have paid for a big old lump up front like Keiffer Moore, and looked al round the non league clubs for a Trevor Hockey type destroyer. As he said, we are not winning now, but at least those two types would have made a good go at putting noses out of joint. not everyone likes a physical player near them

Going there for 30 years doesn't make you a "mere junior", not in my book anyway. The article you mention is about the first that I've read that actually acknowledges what we have done, instead of blindly saying we haven't spent anything again blah blah blah, and continues to slag us off.

I don't think it's just a question of football being broken, which it undoubtedly is, nobody has either the will or more importantly the nohow to fix it. There are very few working brain cells in the upper echelons of those who run football worldwide, as this is surely a worldwide problem.

It is noble how we are running ourselves, I do truly admire our principals, but as each year goes by, and another billionaire buys another team, our chances of carrying on with our model get more and more remote. I like how we are run, but we need more money, is the long and skinny of it. I like the idea that the owners care about the longevity of the club, and don't really want a faceless billionaire. But if we fail in this league again this season, then we have to accept the game might be up.

I have to admit to not being as much of a fan of the model as you, but that doesn't really matter in the great scheme of things. What does matter imo is we need more money as you said. But it's never going to appear with the present incumbents in charge so we are where we are.

The present owners do IMHO have the best interests of the club in mind. Remember, it was not that long ago that the club nearly went under and we eventually ended up in League 1. OK, so we appear not to be able to mix it with the 'big boys' but at least there is still a club to support and there will be for years to come. Yo-yo-ing may not seem acceptable to some but I would rather have that than regular mid-table Championship/League 1/League 2 mediocrity all the time. What would there be to get excited about? Nothing except perhaps a good cup draw. With NCFC we get promotion battles or relegation fights every season .... something to cheer or moan about. If we were a club like Millwall how boring would that be. Same old dreary games every season. NCFC are in the Premier League, possibly the best league in the world, on merit. They will probably go down but fans still had the chance to see Mo Salah, Kevin De Bruyne et al. Next season there may well be another promotion push. How exciting was that last time around. Pukki scoring shed loads of goals and Farke hailed as a hero. Be grateful for what we have .... a club that may not have the resources to succeed in the PL, but a club that always gives us something to shout about and will still be around when other clubs have financially disintegrated,

I will add, that in some ways we are as guilty as the top six. If there was a vote to reduce parachute payments we wouldn’t like it one bit would we. The whole system needs an overhaul, maximum wage anyone ? A maximum amount of investment would probably help but it won’t happen unfortunately.

I have been living out here 22 years, and every winter fly back to uk for my pilgrimage of 2 or 3 games. I may not like what I see or in which ground, but no matter what, I feel so happy. I am 76 now, will I ever get to see another game? I really don't know, but if I get back on a plane again, I will be like a dog with 3 tails, another chance to see the boys in yella again
