I was just trying to think of some good memories in the period between us getting relegated with Worthy and Lambert arriving. I think I have blocked pretty much the whole time out!

I don't think I was at that game, I was still in the forces then, and missed a lot of games.

No one has made me get off my seat in anticipation more than Darren Huckerby.

Hell yes!

One of my 'I was there' stories. To say I've seen my team win a major trophy at Wembley, will bore my grandchildren silly (when they are born!)

A great day, and one of only two times (the other being relegated at home by Leicester) when I admit that I have cried at a game.

Many other memories (Derby as mentioned, thought I was going to burst a blood vessel, and hugged a total stranger) Ipswich away, Boxing Day won 3-2 thanks to Martin O'Neill's last minute superb free kick. Now THAT was pandemonium (terraces/next to the Binners main bunch of Neanderthals etc )

I seem to have been at most mentioned, including being smack in line with Fash's GoS vs Liverpool, Bruce's winner to send us to Wembley at the Binners expense.

Being a Norwich fan has been great (at times!)

I had to get an overnight National Express from Cornwall to London. I think I must have been the first City supporter at Wembley. And that meant I had to hang around until midnight for the overnighter back home to Cornwall.

But the most memorable part of the day for me was getting the train back into London after the game. Thousands all piling onto the same train. Norwich and Sunderland alike, and a good atmosphere. We piled on and there was an elderly lady in a fur coat and too much make up for her age, holding her Pekinese dog.

She look terrified, especially with this huge Sunderland lad leaning over her, and his scarf dangling in her face.

I guess she thought she would see how friendly the natives were by breaking the ice.

"Sunderland, Sunderland FC" she says in her Mrs Slocombe voice. "What's the FC mean?" she asks.

(I wish I could type the dialect for effect) The big lad says "The way we played today missus, it's FU$/+*N C/*+!S." 

Priceless and worth all the travel hastles.

All things considered, we have had a lot of good times over the last 4 or 5 years.

I remember saying to my kids, when we were promoted to the Premiership after blitzkrieging through league one and the Championship "Remember this, because what we have just seen doesn't happen too often, it probably doesn't get any better than this"

Yes in those two seasons I think we got more points and scored more goals than any other club in the 4 divisions. Times like that come around - well close to never!

You know, ignoring the way he left you have to thank Lambert & the players for the entertainment we got from them through them years. I thoroughly enjoyed the League One season - it made football feel like football again and the away trips were fantastic.

That Derby moment - I still get goosebumps from watching it! Incredible!

I've been watching City since about 1977 and there have been many games that will live long in the memory although the milk cup final at Wembley wouldn't be amongst them,for me it was a big anti-climax after the semi final ! I loved the game at the san siro even though it was bloody freezing " Mike Walkers green n Yella army " sung for about 20 mins non stop ! TOTL@PR was right up there but one game that sticks in my mind was our 1-0 win at home to Villa in 92/93,we were both going for the premier league title and after John Polstons goal I really thought we would go on to clinch the league but alas it wasn't to be.my biggest regret was turning down a ticket for the derby 3-2 game,it was in the main stand with the old duffers but sitting at home when Simeon Jackson scored I could have kicked myself ! Oh and Munich at home was a belter too !

What a great thread this is!!

I too was at Wembley for the Sunderland game......organised a coach from Gorleston.....unfortunately it was a very boozy coach and by the time we had got to Pakefield I and many others were half cut, and I was experiencing a hangover by the time the match started. After just a few minutes I slipped on one of the steps and hurt my ankle big time. So, no surprise that I couldnt remember much of the game........but no problem, I had set the video recorder back home. Got home, started the video (I  think it was betamax even) and...........I had recorded the wrong side!!! 

When I watch this game, which I have in full now and note on a video tape, it always reminds me what a terrific player Mark Barham was.......a player who I often forget when naming great City players I have watched.

So, for many of the great times since the 70's I have been there and gone mental many times...BUT, unfortunately I have missed a few of them in more recent years due to being an ex-pat, but my love of our great club has never died, and never will.....I still get a buzz on match days even if I am not at Carrow Road.

The Milk Cup Final was a stand out moment for me too.    Not so much the match, but the result and the celebrations. The Sunderland fans too, who were brilliant, helped - the thought of which still can bring a tear to my eye.   A day to remember.   But the other one was more the moment Iwan scored at the Cardiff play off final.  Such a good goal too.  That one moment was when the thought really hit home that we could be on the brink of promotion.  The hugeness of it affected everyone I think, including the players, but just for a minute or two we were that close to the promised land......

Yh I was thinking back to when we won L1 and then went straight up from the Champ, it just doesn't get any better

My personal favourite was Jackson's goal against Derby as I was in the lower Barclay just to the right of the goal. We'd been 2-1 up and when we let them equalise I thhought we'd blown it. I remember Robbie Savage being subbed and taking forever to walk off. I like to think it was his slow walk off that gave time for Jackson's goal, cue total pandemonium, who was the guy who fell over the edge of the snake pit?
