First 10 games

We have now played 10 games with 20 points the result

5 teams from the top half and 5 from the bottom half

Of the top 5 we have lost 2 and drawn 1

Bottom 5, won 4 and drawn 1.

At home we have lost to 6th placed Charlton and drawn with 20th Birmingham and 11th Blackburn, to my view thats  at least 4 unnecessary lost points.

Apart from the first game (Wolves) in away games we have far exceded expectations although only Ipswich of the wins appears in the top half (5th)

We must do better against the teams that look (on early season form) to be our main rivals, home or away, as these points ,will, towards the season end matter much more.

Still we would have settled for our position as it stands at present given a choice at the start of the season.

You're not gonna win em all. If we were to keep up our form for the whole season we will go up comfortably.

Also worth bearing in mind that the manager is really only ten games into his managerial career too ( I don't really count last season as him being properly in the job)

I may be missing something, but I thought we beat Blackburn 3-1. We also beat Watford 3-0. That's two wins, not the one draw stated. 20 points from 10 games is still very good. One of the reasons Blackburn and Cardiff aren't in the top 5 (I'd say top 6), is because we beat them. Some people go to extraordinary lengths to be negative about our team. If you think Charlton are going to be in the top 6 at the end of the season, you saw a very different game than I did. One fluke result doesn't change everything!

Overwhelmed with our start to the season. Yes we dropped 'unnecessary' points in home games against Birmingham and Charlton, but you're never going to win them all. We're currently top of the league, playing some great attacking football and have only lost 2 of our opening 10 games. As long as we can keep this current average of 2 points a game up then we'll get promoted with ease. 

A lot to happen between now and the end of the season though, but as it stands I'm very happy, as I'm sure every Norwich fan is right now.

If you had offered me our position after 10 games on the day Adams was appointed I would have snapped your hand off.

So yes happy at the 10 game check point. Neil is though still a rookie manager so there will still be bumps on the way. Given there is still room for improvement both on the pitch and managerially we should have a lot to look forward to.

It has been a dream start - built on the excellent platform provided by Ruddy,  Tettey and Johnson and the creativity of Redmond & Wes. 

We find ourselves top of the league inspite of a somewhat shakey if not yet leaky defence,  a mis-shappen midfield and strikers in form but still extremely wasteful.   How good will we be when the problems are sorted    

And with those issues it does show that this is the year to be promoted back to the prem, as the other candidates should have taken advantage already.   Just hope we improve and fulfill our potential

Better start than I thought and 10 games is the accepted guide as to where you'll finish so I'm well happy.

The position is a very good start, and has been achieved with a squad, one or two of whom arrived on deadline day and will take time to fully bed in, while there have been injuries to important players - Howson, Bennett, Hooper.

The home form has been a little disappointing, but the away form has been excellent. Adams has argued that at Molineux we were just gaining the ascendency when Olsson was sent off. Who knows what the result might have been if he had stayed.

The best thing has been the muting of the "Adams-out brigade", one or two were even suggesting we give Adams five games only at the outset.

It could still go pear-shaped, but at the moment all is looking good. To be top after 10 games is as good as you could hope for after 10 games!

We are where we should be. When you look at the strength of our squad, the finances, facilities and resources we've got and compare that to the rest of the league there's not much to rival us.

Not getting promoted would be a huge failure. And, to be honest, not winning the league would be quite disappointing.

But that's not going to be an issue because we will win the league.

It's no given that any team relegated from the Premier League will go straight back up, even though they usually have the strongest squads. Look at the other 2 teams that came down with us. 

In the last 7 seasons, only 3 teams that have come down from the Premier League have gone straight back up automatically.

I agree that not getting promoted would be a failure, but I don't see not winning the league as being disappointing. If we finish 6th and then go up through a scrappy 1-0 win in the play-off final I'll be very happy.

Of course and I'm well aware of how few teams go back up at the first attempt.

However, I would suggest that we are in the unusual (for us) position of clearly being in better shape than almost all of the other teams in the league - if not all of them.

I simply think we have to make that count.

Obviously if I was offered promotion after scrapping it out in the play-offs then I would take it but I just think this is a rare opportunity for Norwich to have realistic ambitions to aim as high as possible.

I cant believe that some people are still moaning(pinkun). Some people have not got a clue about football,I really do despair sometimes.

Playing Devil's advocate, I can understand people setting high standards, and it is right that they should do so.

But I think that everything that has gone on in the last year really has to be taken into account, fans divided over Hughton, the relegation and subsequent anger with the board, the manager being sacked, the restructuring of the team, and the task of building morale and confidence again.

Really, all things considered, it is a minor miracle we are where we are!

I don't think it matters how we achieved top spot. We have achieved it and have scored plenty to boot. That to me means success and entertainment. What more can you ask?
