Personally not something I want Norwich City associated with.

Football Lads Alliance is an English street-protest movement established in 2017. The alliance is purported to be a group of football fans concerned about the "recent upsurge" in terrorist incidents in England but has attracted criticism for alleged links to far-right politics, football hooliganism and the behaviour of those attending marches organised by the alliance.

A march held by the group in London on 7 October 2017 was attended by figures associated with the English Defence League and other racist organisations, such as Tommy Robinson. Some attending the rally abused and threw projectiles at counter-protesters behind a police line, labelling them "*bleep* paedophiles".[1]

Stand Up To Racism, the anti-racism charity has criticised the group. Unite Against Fascism has also raised concerns, noting that the founder of the alliance, John Meighan has previously received a suspended prison sentence relating to football hooliganism and served a ban from attending football matches. The conviction related to Meighan's participation in a brawl between 90 men in Mile End.[2][3][4]

I have a picture of some of our fans at the rally with a big Norwich flag with the football lad's alliance logo on it, so it looks like there are some of our fans involved. Would post the pic but can't post pics any more, grrrr!

There was some of them in the Compleat Angler before the last home game, handing out flyers.

I wouldn't recommend anyone relying solely upon Wikipedia but I don't really want to spend time researching those groups of people.

Just the latest reincarnation of the EDL.

Will be a mix of people ranging from the easily led to people who want to get pissed up with their mates but can't do it at the football because they've got a banning order.

I give it 12 months before the firms start fighting each other when UAF get bored of counter protesting (but I think those counter antifa groups can be just as bad).

I can actually name a few of those people in that photo, they are NHS from back in the day and in their fifties. One in particular is really not to be messed with, his family is basically a firm in itself.

These groups always seem to be set up to make the founders loads of money selling Merch.... apparently Tommy Robinson made a killing selling EDL hoodies and flags, that Britain First group is registered as a political party but had a separate ltd company selling merchandise, so they'd use the political party as a vehicle to drive sales to a company that they take dividends from...

... and yet again, the FLA has a very swish looking website selling a wide variety of products, up and running within a month of their first demo.

Nothing to do with football.

I don't think this necessarily makes people "racist", I think there is a sense of hopelessness and people feeling like they have to do 'something' about what they perceive to be a problem which is not being dealt with by our government (rise in radical Islam). In some ways I understand their frustrations, every time there is a terrorist attack we here that the perpetrators were 'known' by the government, of course we actually intercept many many plots for every one which succeeds. 

I just think its completely the wrong approach, and although it currently appears a lot more civilised than the EDL marches and have a higher proportion of normal looking people judging by the videos.... it won't take long for actual racists and National Front types to hijack it and for various extreme splinter groups to emerge. Out of the EDL came a very extreme group called the North West Infidels who were linked to holocaust deniers etc. 

That's why I consider it dangerous and wouldn't want our badge associated with it, not because of what it looks like now but what it could very easily quickly become. It looks a bit like Pegida at the minute, but could very quickly start looking like Britain First. 

(Follow all this stuff quite closely, go down the rabbit hole quite often!).

What are peoples opinions on the BBC not reporting either of their two marches? 

Never been any mention of the Football League Alliance on the BBC website, but 20,000 people turning up to any march in the capital is news worthy. 

Even though I don't like the look of this group it doesn't sit well with me that a state funded broadcaster would airbrush news like this, 

Numerous national newspapers have written about the group, but the BBC has not. Personally I would hope that the BBC is the one news source which reports EVERYTHING, with the rest of them picking and choosing to suit their agenda. 

It feels a bit odd to me.

The guys on the right are holding a Catalan flag upside-down. I don't know if that means they support Catalan independence or are against it.

They seem politically incoherent at the moment, but more likely to veer right than left.
