Hard to believe that the man who invened the Fozzy flick and was the greatest player to grace Youtube but one of the worst to grace Carrow Road has signed a one year deal with Fulham but it is apparently true. Goes to show that anything can happen!

Fotheringham was much maligned and played for us at a time when we were well on our way to plumbing new depths of despair for the modern fan. Indeed he was always noticed because he never hid; would always show for the ball and would gladly receive it under pressure. For the most part he also retained the ball pretty well but he was skipper of a sinking ship and will always be remembered thus.

He's not likely to make an all-time 11 or 111 for that matter but we had far worse players around that time; players who slipped under the radar because they weren't willing to stand up and be counted in a very poor side.

It will be interesting to see if he plays and how he gets on, I'm happier with Gary O'Neil though.

There is some truth in that Warren but I'm not sure you are going to find many City fans agreeing with you. He did make himself available and when he was playing well could be a good link up man and distributor of the ball, the problem as I recall is he just had to many poor games when his passing let him down and he became a focus of the fans displeasure.I think he thought he was better than he actually was. His final gesture of storming off down the tunnel was not his greatest moment, probably as much frustration with himself as anything else.

Could be his signing has something to do with Peter Grant being on the coaching staff there.

I am with warren;   he was never as bad as stated,  although barely set the world alight and I wouldnt want him back.   There have been many worse midfielders for us in the last 10 years.

He clearly has some talent and fulham may be right place and time for him, fingers crossed its not!

His passing sideways and backwards was consistent enough. He didn't pass forwards often enough to pass comment.

Could this be the strangest transfer of the summer so far??

I also agree with Warren Hill, we've certainly had worse, and believe it ir not he still has a soft spot for us.

Fotheringham was a dreadful player for us and a bizarre choice as captain.  His passing, as long as it was ten yards or less in distance, and backwards or sideways in direction, was fine.  Nothing else in his game was anything other than bog standard mediocrity.  Few goals, tackles, dribbles, runs, not the best at tracking back or marking, and had that annoying habit of clapping his hands together as if he was trying to kill one of those irritating fruitflies you get this time of year (though given his reaction time, the fruitfly in question had probably already died of old age).

He's played at something like 12 clubs in the last 15 years, and I'd say there's a reason for that - he gets found out as being rubbish and then leaves.

If we've had much worse then I'd like to have seen them.  Even Tudur-Jones, Matty Pattison, Darel Russell, Sean Carey and Matty Gill were better CMs than Fotheringham.
