Reports that he is having a medical. He could be the new Malky, promoted three successive seasons with three different teams. Two of them Wet Sham and us. It's all foretold in the stars. I hope.

What sort of player is he, can he pass a ball around?

This will be Fox out, O'Neill in, so be interested to know - really don't know much about him.

Adams said in todays PU that he's been training with us.

I heard that he had a medical with us yesterday afternoon. If that's the case I'm expecting an announcement probably Monday.

Good point, I had totally forgotten about Fox. A lot of people were (perhaps rightly) that O'neill was a preemptive replacement for Leroy Fer.

Solid, steady player IMO.  My first thoughts were that it's a signing on the cheap again.  But I think he'll be a solid if unspectacular addition to the squad

Think he will be a good signing for us. Experienced in the championship, knows what it takes to get promoted and probably a good person to have around the younger players. Not bad considering he's on a free. And as morty said a lot of people were assuming its a replacement for fer (myself included),but fox does seem the more likely

I also think that this is a good signing if it happens. Very experienced in gaining promotion and had 29 games for QPR last season. Good passer who can play CM or WR, so I'd assume also the right side of the diamond opposite Surman. Useful acquisition, IMO.

In the interests of fairness, I'll just add that Cedric Anselin was also at the Vigo game. Not sure if he could play in a diamond but he was definitely there...

:)

As a QPR fan said, "he knows where to pass and how to create space", but he's also a more all round player than Fox. Apparently he's tweeted that things "should be sorted out Monday or Tuesday", so signs look good.

Seems it is pretty much set - a decent player. I hadn't realised he had 'done a Malky' and been promoted in each of the last two seasons only to be let go.

Just the sort of player we need to bring in. Hard working, combatative and very experienced at this level.

Don't think anyone has posted this, seems a decent honest lad. Certainly took one for the team there.

Think he'll be a superb addition, myself. Really thought against Celta Vigo we struggled to get possession and think O'Neil is pretty decent at that.

Yes good possession and good passer to create space, but what's taking so long?

Think it's a great signing and an excellent piece of business. He always seem to give 100% and leads by example. The sort of player we seemed to be missing last season when things were going badly.
