Going to miss The Championship

Don't like the Premier League. Good for the club and I want to see Ncfc do well but as a competition give me the championship. More games,a better chance of beating any team, no looking at the table wondering when we'll get to 38 points,less overblown hype about over paid players and cheaper casual tickets. McNally called the Premier league the best and most exciting in the world yesterday. I disagree . This seasons Championship has been far more competitive and exciting for more teams.Love the fact we have success and the money etc that goes with it but I won't be going. My son can have my season ticket,he has more interest in the so called glamour teams than I.

I think a lot of Norwich fans' opinions on the Premier League have been tainted by Chris Hughton.

I take all the points you are making, but I hope that one positive advantage of the Premiership is better quality referees and certainly more scrutiny of the officials

Although i have a lot things i dislike about the premiership, I agree the only reason we're all loving the championship so much is because we did it with a premiership quality squad.  I much preferred the 2011/12 season with Lambert in the Prem than  every season from our relegation in 2005 to our relegation in 2009.   

We needed to get promoted. We need the money in the bank so if we do get relegated again, at least we can maintain a strong squad and have fun getting promoted again.

I'm actually feeling quietly confident about the PL this time around. We have a solid squad with good PL experience and the money to add further quality in key positions, not to mention a superb manager who will make the most of every opportunity.

Well this season has been the tightest at the top I can remember. Any of 8 teams could have realistically won the league this year, there was no one team clearly better than the others running off with the league, and that made it incredibly exciting. The play-offs also gives all those teams in the middle of the league something to play for right up to the closing weeks. For me its a far more competitive league than the Premiership will ever be

If you dont make europe in the prem league is the next best thing to be a yo yo club - 3 years up and one down?  financial stability,  watching some of the worlds best [over paid overrated] players, without the mid table stupefying mediocrity that march onward brings,   and the excitement of promotion and winning games

I went to 39 City games this season and had fantastic fun. Yes, of course we were winning, but we also went to cosy, atmospheric grounds and met proper football fans every week. Brighton was a real highlight, but there were plenty of others. I loved this Championship season, but I want to see my club at the top table, even if that means a struggle.

The Championship is definitely a more exciting league, and I have really enjoyed this season. However if we stay in this league too long then we'll eventually end up in a mid-table battle like so many teams are. I'd certainly much rather be in a mid-table battle in the Premier League than the Championship.

Easy to be sentimental about it when we have successfully got out of it upwards. Not sure the feelings would be the same had we lost on Monday!

I always find this a strange argument.

Part of the reason for the PL's success is due to it's popularity throughout the World.

TV screen from Stockholm to Shanghai blast out Premier league games to the anxious millions.

Yet, in England, home of the PL we have constant preference for the second league. The Championship has some plusses, but not for me a preference, nor for the average Bangkok taxi driver ... I include this last reference because I once came from the airport in the hands of a driver who was such a keen Liverpool fan that he could quote every team going back decades. We drove into the centre singing "You'll Never Walk Alone" together.

One day it could be OTBC, as long as we remain amongst the elite, that is.

Most of us can surely remember some really dark and depressing times in the Championship, it weren't very long ago? That slow downward spiral from 2005 to 2009, where we sunk to the third tier for the first time since the 1960's, was not the slightest bit enjoyable.

Its much more fun when you are in a strong financial position and in receipt of parachute payments at record levels and manage to retain a squad with a dozen players of Premier League quality, yes. 

Wigan probably thought that their first season down wasn't so bad either, finishing in the top 6, but they quickly showed how bad things can get if you don't get back up at first attempt.  

If we'd not somehow managed to find one of the games most exciting up and coming managers and failed to win promotion this season, we'd all be talking about how much of our squad we'd have left next season, and we wouldn't be talking about people like Elliott Bennett, Gary O'Neill and Michael Turner like they are disposable, but rather speculating as to whether they'll be amongst our best players .
