Have We Struck Gold?

For one so young, Mr. A. Neil

Has taken us by storm,

Already he seems the real deal

In helping us perform

He quickly diagnosed the cause

Of many of our woes,

It was apparent early doors

He´d keep them on their toes

But still, to lead a turnaround

As noteworthy as this,

Surely can´t have failed to astound

Those ´twixt Cromer and Diss

Clear and concise is how he comes

Across, when interviewed,

Not afraid if what he says stuns

Any assembled brood

And clear and structured are his views

On how his team should play,

For any player that´s good news

As doubt is kept at bay

The new found impetus, it shows

Not only in point gains,

As energy and belief flows

Through each and all their veins

It´s clear to see that each member

Seems lifted in our crew,

But Grabban, Olsson, Whittaker

I´d say look born anew

And with Bassong now firmly in

From the cold, our back line,

Is settled, and not quite as thin

One more comforting sign

Now I know that a coaching team

Is not a one-man band,

But for our milk to rise to cream

Needs a defining hand

And whereas in the early part

Of this Championship year,

We were a bit more stop and start

Now very few, I fear

So, to McNally, worthy sage

You might successfully,

Have helped to rewrite one more page

Of our club´s history

And though, A. Neil, it´s early days

If I may be so bold,

It doesn´t seem too much to say

We might have just struck gold. OTBC
